Buhari rules out second term for Lamorde

There is speculation that the tenure of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde may not be renewed after his current 4 year tenure.
According to a top Presidency source on Thursday, President Buhari would not renew Lamorde’s tenure after it expires..

According to Punch, the official said:
“The impression is that the commission under Lamorde has been sleeping since. Their recent publicised activities are seen as just ways of impressing the President and the man (Buhari) cannot be fooled,”.
The source however said it was not clear yet who the President is considering to take over from Lamorde.
According to media reports, Lamorde is currently being investigated over allegations of diversion of over N1tn from the sale of confiscated properties that belonged to convicted public officials.

Lamorde said:
“The President does not need to order a probe of what is already a subject of the Senate’s investigation.
“Since the man is leaving office next month, it is natural that politics of succession would have started and that may be responsible for the reports.
“Those who think the President may be considering a renewal of tenure for him will naturally come up with such reports,” he added.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina said he had no information on the matter when he was asked on Thursday.

"The impression is that the commission under Lamorde has been sleeping since. Their recent publicised activities are seen as just ways of impressing the President and the man (Buhari) cannot be fooled."

Looks like Buhari's people have been reading my blog. They forgot to add that Lamorde specialised in prosecuting pickpockets, wife beaters, internet scammers and burglars.

LOL

Lamorde is a billionaire. He should quietly go enjoy his loot, or he'd attract serious scrutiny.

The only reason his loot may never be discovered is cos he used the insider knowledge (of how EFCC searches offshore tax havens for dirty money) to burry his stash in foreign jurisdictions that would never cooperate with any attempt to retrieve stolen wealth buried in their economy.

LAMORDE!

As corrupt as the putrefaction in Olusosun dump heap!!!!

The petitions in respect of the festering decomposition in the EFCC unbder this mullah's watch is legion....

If Buhari fails to order the investigation and trial of this guy, then just take it for granted that his so-called anti-corruption war is nothing more than pulling a wool over our eyes...
