CNN interview: Boko Haram and Black West Africa not a priority

You want to know why world leaders gathered in France when 17 people were killed and none have particularly shown much interested in the madness happening in Northern Nigeria with Boko Haram? Well, it's because West Africa is not a priority to world leaders. Boko Haram is not a priority to the US. Wanted to share this video because this kinds of utterances need to be brought to the fore; this ultimately shows the way we as blacks or "Black West African" are viewed by advanced countries. Amaechi bars Jonathan from using State's stadium for campaign rally

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state has refused letting PDP use the state owned Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Igwurita-Ali for its presidential campaign slated for January 28th.

According to Thisday, PDP had written to the state government seeking permission to use the stadium for its presidential campaign but in its response, the government said the party could not use it as it was under construction, a position faulted by the PDP.

According to PDP, the APC had used that same stadium twice recently. Speaking on the matter, the state Chairman of PDP, Felix Obuah, said the stadium was built with Tax payers money and so should be available for use to everyone.

227 Nigerian soldiers protest unlawful dismissal

227 soldiers serving in the North Eastern zone of Nigeria have protested their alleged dismissal from the Nigerian Army by the General Officer Commanding 3 Armoured Division Jos, Plateau State.

According to Leadership, the protesting soldiers led by Sergeant Abiona Elisha stormed the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Plateau state secretariat yesterday January 16th, holding placards calling for their reinstatement into the army.

LIB reader who died in hotel during Calabar Festival to be laid to rest

The remains of Lawman Eberechi Kalu, an ardent LIB reader (according to his friends) 27, who lost his life during the 2014 Calabar Festival will be laid to rest on January 30, 2015.

Mr. Kalu who met his tragic death when fire broke out in the hotel he was staying, tried to jump out from the hotel window but met his death instead of a safe landing. A release by the family has it that the remains Eberechi Kalu who hailed from Ututu Arochukwu in Abia State will depart Allied Mortuary for his home town where he would be laid to rest by 10 am.

Lawman’s sad death which happened on Dec. 28, 2014 has sent his family and friends into mourning. May his soul rest in peace. Amen!

15 year old Paulina Ojeka Ogwuledwu, pictured above has been declared missing by her family. According to her Uncle, a pastor with Baptist Church in Ogba, who spoke with LIB, Paulina, an indigene of Benue state, was last seen on Wednesday January 14th. She lived with her Uncle in Ogba and is an apprentice with a fashion outlet in Ogba. On the day she went missing, Paulina had gone for her training and returned in the evening but later left the house and up until today has not returned.

Politicians are liars, I don't trust them - Pastor Adeboye says

The GO of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye says politicians are liars and he doesn't trust them because they don't fulfill their promises. Pastor Adeboye said this while speaking at a prayer meeting at OAU, Ile Ife, Osun state yesterday January 16th.

"I don’t trust politicians. Politicians are liars. They don’t fulfill most of their promises. A politician can tell you that they will give all of you (students) chicken each, which we all know it is impossible.” he said

Pastor Adeboye advised Nigerians not to be worried about the forthcoming elections as God has already decided who will be President. “God has already planned who will be the President of Nigeria. CNN anchor Jim Clancy has left the network one week after a bizarre exchange with pro-Israel activists on Twitter about the terrorist outrages in Paris, in which he derided his opponents as the “hasbara team” and used a derogatory term for disabled people.

The news was broken by industry publication Adweek, which linked to The Algemeiner‘s extensive reporting of the scandal, noting that Clancy’s departure “comes just days after the veteran journalist had an extended debate via Twitter over the Charlie Hebdo cartoons.”
