Libya deports 1, 064 Nigerians.

No fewer than 1,064 Nigerians have been deported by Libyan authorities in the last one month, Immigration sources are reporting.

The Libyan authorities deported 150 Nigerians on September 27, with an aircraft with registration SUBME. Twenty four hours later, the second batch of Nigerian deportees arrived the shores of the country with another 150. While the deportees were still going through immigration processes, the North African country deported another 150, all males. The same aircraft brought the latest deportees.

The following day, September 29, another 150 were deported from the country and only last Tuesday, 134 Nigerians comprising 88 females and 46 males were deported from the country with the same aircraft.

A deportee, who spoke to Daily Champion under condition of anonymity, said the security officials treated them shabbily. "We were beating like animals; treated like outcasts; and condemned to death even before any proper prosecution process could take place. More than 200 of us were packed inside a room like frozen fish," he said.

The deportees who were described as "illegal immigrants" by the Libyan authorities are mainly from Zamwia-Zamzu prison in Tripoli.*
Source: Daily Champion.

A few months ago, that country tried to execute 220 Nigerians who were on death row, before the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights in Banjul, Gambia, ordered the government of Libya to suspend the execution.

The Commission’s order followed a petition filed by the Socio-Economic Rights & Accountability Project (SERAP), through its Solicitor, Mr Femi Falana.*

My question now is: What are Nigerians doing in Libya?

Dating ONLY older women: Usher Raymond in focus.

I met this 33year old guy some days ago who is getting married to a lady six years older than him. The age difference kinda got me wondering. If this lady were rich, people would naturally be suspicious, because it's not the norm in this part of the world for a man to marry a woman older than him. But she's not rich. He says it's love. I believe him.
"Usher would be so proud" I said jokingly to the guy. His response was something like "Usher is sick. His penchant for older women is disturbing. This is my first older woman.".
Hmmmm...I see! :-)

Someone told me that Usher's preference for older women has something to do with his upbringing...vis-a-vis his relationship with his mum. He's looking for his mum in every woman. The older the woman, the more motherly care he would get from her.
BS???

Check out Usher's relationship history...

Usher with ex Chilli 38

Usher with ex Naomi Campbell 39

Usher and soon to be ex-wife Tameka Foster 39

Usher with current girlfriend Grace Miguel (married) - 42

Is there anything wrong with a guy who likes to date ONLY older women? Could it be traced to his upbringing? Is there any cause for alarm? Let's know what you think.

Kaduna Security Chief looses 8 kids in accident

Some weeks back, the wife of the Deputy Director in the Kaduna State Security Service (SSS), Alhaji Uwar Awal, gave birth to a new baby in an Abuja hospital. Last week, Alhaji Uwar decided to take his children and other relatives based in Kaduna to go celebrate the birth of the new baby with his wife who was still in Abuja.

On their way to Abuja, driving along Kaduna Abuja Expressway, the car they were driving in, a Peugeot Prestige 406 car, somersaulted while driving on the bridge and fell into a river. The accident was caused by a burst tyre. This was around 6.30 pm.

It was a motorist who witnessed the accident that drew the attention of the Kaduna State Security Service who went to a nearby village where they got fishermen to help remove the car and bodies from the river.

Eight children drowned in the accident.

The only survivor of the accident was the Deputy Director himself who was the one driving and managed to get himself out of the river. He was taken to the Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital where he was treated.

Five of the eight children who died in the accident were the directors own children, aged between 6 and 13 years. Four bodies of the children were recovered from the car which was submerged in water while the remaining bodies are yet to be recovered.

An extremely sad thing to happen to this man and his wife. A terrible thing to happen to these children. May their souls rest in peace. Amen.

The beating to death of Derrion Albert

The graphic video showing the fatal beating to death of 16 year old Derrion Albert, a sophomore honor roll student at Christian Fenger Academy High School has ramped up pressure on Chicago officials to address chronic violence that has led to dozens of deaths of city teens each year.

Derrion Albert.
Albert was killed in a melee near the school that police believe is a continuation of ongoing tensions between Fenger students that are members of rival gangs. Albert was knocked unconscious when he was struck in the head with a board and a second person punched him in the face. Albert regained consciousness and was trying to get up when he was attacked a second time by five people.

Albert's mom said witnesses told her that her son "was trying to help another student and kind of got mixed in with the crowd of the fight and he was hit."

Prosecutors charged four teenagers Monday with fatally beating Albert, who was walking to a bus stop when he got caught up in the mob street fighting, authorities said.

The violence stemmed from a shooting early Thursday morning involving two groups of students from different neighborhoods, said Tandra Simonton, a spokeswoman for the Cook County prosecutor's office. When school ended, members of the groups began fighting near the Agape Community Center.

Prosecutors charged Silvonus Shannon, 19, Eugene Riley, 18, Eric Carson, 16, and Eugene Bailey, 18, with first-degree murder, Simonton said.

Chicago police said they were looking for at least three more suspects, but would not discuss a possible motive for the attack.

Fenger students said Albert's death intensified tensions at the school, with arguments about him breaking out in hallways all day Monday. Several blocks away, a memorial erected on the spot where he was beaten was burned down. Police also increased patrols before and after school and in the neighborhood.

"They're still trying to retaliate," said sophomore Toni Gardner, 15. She did not elaborate.
For Chicago, a sharp rise in violent student deaths during the past three school years — most from shootings off school property — have been a tragedy and an embarrassment.
Before 2006, an average of 10-15 students were fatally shot each year. That climbed to 24 fatal shootings in the 2006-07 school year, 23 deaths and 211 shootings in the 2007-08 school year and 34 deaths and 290 shootings last school year.
But Annette Holt, mother of Blair Holt, a Chicago Public Schools student who was shot on a city bus two years ago, said Albert represented "another promising future, just snuffed out because of violence."

"Someone said he (Derrion) was in the wrong place at the wrong time," she said. "No, he wasn't. He was in the right place. He was coming from school."

Really sad.

The Ideal Beautiful Woman.

~ Written by Tokunbo O.

Don't get it twisted, no one is this perfect

This topic here is about women not being at peace with their looks. I feel like the celebrity culture has placed some kind of benchmark on beauty and it is expected that every woman must look in a particular way to be regarded as being beautiful. Some also believe that the pictures of our Celebrities that are on pages of Magazines and the Net are just transient, it's not their everyday look as they may want us to believe.

In this age of advanced photography, professional making up, beauty treatment routine, etc, is it ideal to use these people we see on the Magazine Covers, Internet, as the yardstick of being beautiful?

Most women including myself find it difficult to accept the person we see in the Mirror, this has nothing to do with low self esteem, it is a natural reaction to what one considers as the ideal beautiful woman as being portrayed in the media.

Is it right to have a distorted view about beauty or should we all break the bank before we can have the confidence to consider ourselves beautiful? I once had a Male friend who said he can only judge if a woman is beautiful in the morning, that is before she takes her bath and apply all sorts of make up. I think there is a disconnect between what men consider as beauty and what we women think. I will appreciate your sincere opinion on this topic.* T

Foreign Entertainment News.

Will feature this occasionally for my Naija based readers who have been asking for it.
Enjoy.

Khloe weds...

The youngest Kardashian sister, Khloe, married her boyfriend of only one month, Lamar Odom, last Sunday. Kinda scary marrying a man you've only known for a month. Or is that ok? Some people actually think it's a publicity stunt...you think?

I kinda feel like these sisters are trying to outshine one another. Kourtney got pregnant, Khloe got married, Kim reconciled with ex boyfriend Reggie Bush. Trying to see who gets more press huh? Good for them.*

Justin and Jessica split?

They say it's over between Justin and girlfriend Jessica Biel. Guess who he's supposedly dating? The one and only Rihanna...

Star writes: ''Rihanna and Justin have been talking and texting on the phone nonstop since the VMAs,'' a source tells Star. But before Rihanna totally gives in to the attraction, she wants to make sure she’s not his lady on the side. A friend reveals: ''She asked him on the phone,'Are you still with Jessica?' And he hinted that things were cooling off between them.''
Good pairing...but I don't believe it...yet!*

Janet and Jermaine together again

Janet Jackson (43) and music producer Jermaine Dupri (37) were together for 7 years before splitting in July 2009. But it seems they've reconciled. They were spotted hanging out in Milan, Italy this week. They were seen together at the Vicini Spring/Summer Collection and Donatella Versace's afterparty. *

Also Nicole and Lewis

There were rumours that Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton (24) and Nicole Scherzinger (31) had called it quits. Obviously not true as she was in Singapore over the weekend to support Lewis at the Grand Prix. Lewis won the race.

Robbie and Ayda getting married?
Rumour has it that Bristish born singer Robbie Williams (35) is to soon marry his Turkish girlfriend, actress Ayda Field (30). The couple have been together 2 years. *

Hugh and Claire marry

Claire Danes, 30 and British actor Hugh Dancy 34, got married in a low-key wedding attended by family and close friends, earlier this month in France, Life & Style magazine is reporting.
The pair met over two years ago on the set of Evening in Newport, R.I. They announced their engagement in February. Loved Hugh in Confessions of a Shopaholic. *

DJ AM's death ruled an accident

A New York City medical examiner has determined the cause of death for Adam Goldstein, who was found dead in his apartment in late August, to be an accidental overdose. According to the medical examiner, the technical reason DJ AM passed away was due to "acute intoxication, caused by the combined effects of so many drugs in his system. These included: cocaine, oxycodone, Vicodin, Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, Benadryl and Levamisole.
Sad. *

A pregnant Gisele

The super model who is married to Tom Brady is six months pregnant. Doesn't look it huh? Advantages of having a great body *

A dog with human body.

Someone sent this to me. I sincerely cannot tell you how accurate the picture or story is... I personally don't believe it, but check it out and reach your own conclusions.

Dog with human body
Early this morning, a hunter, who gave his name as Mr. Ahutoyi, woke the indigenes of Badagry up with a loud cry over a strange creature he discovered while in one of his hunting expeditions that he had carried out in the last 25 years.
His finding was a strange dog in human form tending to her young ones in the thick of the forest. Unable to withstand the sight, he ran to the community and some brave youths moved the strange animal into Badagry, and thousands of Lagos and Republic of Benin residents have been trooping to a church where the animals have been kept for further investigations.

Is this a hoax or is it for real? It looks like a painting to me...what do you think?

Genevieve Nnaji speaks on her beauty secret

She's one of the most people in the world. She recently shared her beauty secrets with Desola Bakare of Encomium magazine
Read and learn.

Can you reveal 3 beauty products that you can't do without and why?
Genevieve
"I can't do without makeup remover. I've discovered the monent you don't properly wash and clean your face, especially before going to bed, you end up with filth penetrating your pores and the result is spots and acne. I use N0 7 White Makep -up remover and it works fine for me. I also like face washes and I couldn't live without 'Shiseido range'. I've been using it for years now and I've found it works for me. The third product I couldn't do without is the Shiseido toner. It's good because it clears away all the last residue of your cleanser. Its called Softener and is very gentle on your skin.

What's your best beauty advise?
Genevieve "Something I would recommend for any woman is whenever you have the opportunity, let your skin breath. We need oxygen and air on the naked skin. Maybe it's because I have a career in acting, I appear on TV, in films and in adverts so we tend to wear makeup quite often. I find that when I don't need to wear makeup, I let my skin breath. I cleanse, tone, moisturise, and let my skin breath. If you are going to the gym or going to the market, you don't need to wear make-up. The skin in it's natural state eals itself and gets the opportunity to rejuvenate itself.

What other things do you do to keep looking good?
Genevieve "Getting enough sleep is very good, although having said that, I don't think I personally get as much sleep as I should. Apart from sleep, also visit the gym. I used to go every day but I'm trying to cut it down to every other day. I think you need toned, lean muscles and that's what exercise does. My basic routine is running on the threadmill for about 40minutes, then the exercise bike for about 20minutes and then I do a bit of weights to help tone the arms and thighs. I also play squash and tennis occasionally.

Lipstick or lipgloss?
Genevieve "I have very small lips, when you have tiny lips you end up with the colour everywhere but on your lips where you want it. I think lipgloss suits me better. I love Victoria Secrets glosses. The one I tend to use is nude, and it has a tinge of pink.

What kinds of things do you like doing to your hair?
Genevieve "It's weavon, weavon, weavon I'm afraid. I like curly weaveon. I do braids but I can say probably every four years. I actually like natural hair. My hair is moderately long. The last time I wore my natural hair somebody actually walked up to me and asked me if I were broke! I'm serious. I just said OK, that's the last time I go au naturel. (Laughs).

What do you do to relax?
Genevieve "I find it difficult to sit still for long. Other than a manicure and pedicure, I don't do anything. I don't really like massages. Apart from the fact that I don't enjoy someone touching me like that, by the time I've spent ten minutes there I would just feel that I could be doing something else with my time. I have such little patience. I don't mind watching films when I have time and I like watching TV series.

What's your favourite colour?
Genevieve "Earlier in my career when I was receiving so much attention, I thought that if I wore more black I would be less conspicuous, it didn't work. (laughs). Anyway, I still do a lot of black, I think it suits my complexion. I don't really like bright colours because they make me look 'clown like'. But Ive started mixing my blacks with colour.

How would you describe your style?
Genevieve "I like simple things, I treasure comfort. What I feel comfortable in, makes me feel confident. What I wear usually depend on the occasion".
What's your fashion fetish?
Genevieve "I have to say bags and jewellery. I just love bags. I think it's because I'm really a get-up-and-go kind of person. I'm very much into putting on a pair of jean, a top and I'm ready to go. That's the tomboy part of me coming out. (laughs). I like that look and the only thing that can make you look 'dressed' is a really good bag. I love the artistry of bags. I love the artwork and craftsmanship that goes into making a really good bag. I don't really go for trends, I prefer classic looks and bags that can last forever and never go out of style.

Would you ever consider plastic surgery?
Genevieve "I always say never say never. Realistically this is what I do for a living. This is what puts money in my pocket and food on my table and you do have to do what you have to do. So I have to make sure I look good. Who knows in 20 years how I feel? The truth is that our industry relies a lot on the way you look, that's why I'm doing everything I can not to resort to the knife in the future. That's why I go to the gym to get the fat out and look toned and leaned.

No wonder she's so beautiful. Thoughts???

How P-Square almost marred Guinness 250 Anniversary

~ Chilee Agunanna of Encomium Magazine

Nigerians joined the Guinness Worldwide 250 Anniversary celebrations at the Oceanview Restaurant, Victoria Island, Lagos on Thursday September 24th, 2009.

The show had M.I, D’banj, Wande Coal and the Mo’Hits Allstars perform most of their hit tracks to a lively and appreciative audience before P-Square came on stage.

The track four of the new P-Square Danger album ‘Possibility’ features 2face and they obviously wanted to perform it with him. But the organisers wouldn’t let 2face on stage to join P-Square. At about 10pm, Guinness had planned to transmit the performances round the world live and wanted Sean Paul to be on the Nigerian stage at that precise moment, but P-Square would have none of it. They went backstage and after a few minutes ran back onto the stage screaming “These organisers are f**ked, they don’t want 2face to perform”. Paul then threw his microphone into the crowd and all hell broke loose.

The crowd immediately began throwing things on to the stage while at the same time shouting off the roof “2face, 2face, 2face!”. In order to safeguard their musical instrument, the ban packed up and left the stage and the rain of objects ranging from plastic bottles, drink cans and every other available object continued to drop on the stage.

Basketmouth, who was the MC and DJ Jimmy Jatt who was also part of the concert team tried all they could to pacify the crowd, but had little success. They promised that 2face would perform after Sean Paul, but the crowd would have none of that. The show simply stopped for about an hour while the issue was sorted out backstage.

P-Square later came back on stage to complete their performance inviting 2face to join them, but they performed to their CD because the band didn’t come back. P-Square afterwards apologised for their action. They said that one must always be their brother’s keeper adding that something like that should never happen again. They ended their performance by introducing Sean Paul to the stage.

All the ugly incident notwithstanding, the Nigerian version of the Guinness 250 concert celebration was a huge success.
***

What do you guys think of P-Square's behaviour?

This is what I think.
First of all, don’t throw anything into a crowd, you could have hurt someone.
Secondly, we all have to learn to control our anger, especially if we want to continue staying 'on top'. It's possible that this behaviour will turn off other corporate organisations from hiring them to perform at their shows. Remember what happened to Eedris Abdulkareem?. But maybe their action is justified? What do you guys think?
