Haba my dear sister Linda, you really erred here. I am a UN staff in Nigeria and no celebrations were ordered at the UN House Abuja but according to a circular from the UN Resident Coordinator's office in Nigeria mandated all agencies to observe a minute silence. I must say here categorically that the picture where the UN Secretary General whose picture you used is actually an old picture...actually his visit last year in Nigeria which i am part of. the other subsequent pictures are NOT related to the same visit.

While commending your works, please try and be truthful in reporting so as not to give false information to the public.

UN Nigeria is in mourning mood today as well as vigilant and please for emphasis sake: THERE ARE NO CELEBRATIONS AT THE UN HOUSE IN ABUJA. Kindly take note. thanks

CANT FORGET THIS DAY. MY OFFICE WAS JUST A STONE THROW FROM U.N BUILDING. I AND COLLEAGUES HAD GONE OUT FOR LUNCH DAT AFTERNOON AT A NEARBY KAFTERIA.JUST had a first bite of my food when this MASSIVE THUNDEROUS SOUND CAME ((((BOOOOOOOOOOOOM)))) THAT SENT ALL THE GLASS WINDOWS FLYING. EVERYONE WAS LIKE "JESUS. ...WAS THAT THUNDER? ???? PEOPLE STARTED RUNNING OUT TO LOOK WAT SOUNDED THAT WAY. NEXT THING WE HEARD SIREN NOISES (AHH WE WERE STILL CONFUSED. AMBULANCES KEH. ...AHHHH POLICE VEHICLES AHH NEXT THING WE SAW CARS PICKING PEOPLE UP WITH BLOOD ALL OVER THEIR CLOTHES (THEN WE ALL SCREAMED) NA BOMB OHHHHHHH.i looked through a broken window lo and behold half of the U.N building was gone. We all ran to the office but met our main office in shambles too. Our boss was speechless. We picked our bags and were released to go home. Can't forget writing on my BBM that day "bomb blast in U.N building" even before it hit the news. I don't work there anymore. I can't believe it's Been five years. May their souls rest in peace. Amen
