Uche Jombo asks an interesting question...married people only! :-)

The actress who is celebrating her Court wedding anniversary today took to her Instagram page to ask an interesting question. She wrote;
"Quick question...how many ladies here remember/celebrate their court marriage day not the official ceremonial wedding day? FYI today is my court marriage day i don't even remember or celebrate it ...my wedding anniversary has always been the white wedding day for me. The question is should the day you got the marriage certificate be your anniversary celebration day or your wedding day ........? ‪#‎QuestionOfTheDay‬".

Pls there is no such thing as "court marriage". That marriage is one conducted in the "Registry". A marriage can be conducted in 1) a church, 2) a marriage registry or 3) a licensed place.

very important question, and i asked myself the same question on my way to work yesterday while celebrating my 4th year wedding annivessary. i have never thought of even the traditional marriage date which i think is also important. the Church itself recognize the tradition/culture (Paying of the bride price).

Court wedding but bc is somehow personal, people prefer their white wedding.

That ceremony is tagged "wedding anniversary". So you may rightly tag your celebration and partyyyy! It's allowed

What's de difference mbok

My court wedding because that is all we have for now

i have always used the court wedding date on all official documents.
The Church wedding was the official church blessing.

I do mine d day I got my marriage certificate in court.....

To be honest I have asked myself the exact same question. But I guess its the white wedding because that's what the society really accepts.

The day your bride price was paid is your wedding day. i celebrate my traditional marriage day as my official wedding day. the white wedding, court wedding days are all formality. The Bible recognize the day a woman's bride price is paid only. shikina.....
