OPC Stages Anti-Boko Haram Protest in Lagos

Following the bomb blast in a Kaduna spare parts market two days ago, that has so far killed 14 people, members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), led by its leader, Dr Fredrick Fasheun, yesterday Thursday Dec 8th marched through major streets of Lagos, protesting against the general insecurity in the country, and especially the terrorist activities of Boko Haram, warning to take decisive action against the terrorist group if they dare make an incursion into the South West...and if the Federal Govt does not do something about them soon.

The men were armed with shotgun, rifles, machetes, armlets etc. If you live in Lagos, did you see them?

While we desperately need an answer to bokoha"RAM", we need civil clashes like we need a hole in the head (...not much really unless your an air head O_o*)
And OPC should not be allowed to walk around in this fashion, it could provide a cover story for actual criminals.
2wrongs don't make a right and the govt need to solve this b4 Nigerian pple wake up 1day and find themselves in the middle of 3people fighting... yes I know the scenario is extreme. #PeaceSigns

Yes i saw them yesterday at Ikorodu road at about 3.30 pm.

Good moves, i hope the do it without taking laws into their hands though.

It is time people start protesting against this Boko haram thing before it spreads, since the government has refused to do anything meaningful, instead they are seen running away from them and changing locations out of fear.

God help Nigeria.

Nigeria is finished, how could a bunch of illitrates hold a nation to ransom, where is the intellegent dept...now criminals will hijack this so called protest and rob people. And you want foreign investors to come to your country? You shoul see how foreign media reports the BH saga here in europe. Shame on lame duck jonathan!

They are the only people who can actually stop this, the government don't care. They are probably involved in the whole madness!

The explosion WAS NOT caused by Boko Haram.

It was caused by gas cylinders being used by some traders.

Under normal circumstances this is very wrong cos 2wrongs can't make a right bt d nigerian circumstances are very far 4rm normal.
D so called boko haram ve been killing innocent people and d government seems to b confused or they simply don't know what to do.yes we've heard stories of powerful people being behind them but how many of them ve been brought to book??d worst part of it is that the northern leaders are very quiet and they can't even call them to order not even d sultan of sokoto d leader of muslims in nigeria that's just to show that these people ® nt fighting 4 religion bt they ® used by politicians...
Given these facts, one cannot blame the opc 4doing what they did yesterday cos since the govt can't do its job of providing security 4 us we'll do it ourselves...

ah i dont know if i support them or not oo! on the one hand its good because this boko haram own don dey too much asin they need someone to challenge them! BUT on the other hand, this can lead to a widespread violence through out the other parts of Nigeria. i think the govt should step in now oo and see if they can ameliorate the situation, Before it is too late! whoever knows Jona pls beg him to wake up oo!

Yes Linda, saw those guys yesterday @ along Ikorodu road, Ojota to be precise. I think its a good initiative but the manners at which it was carried out was nothing to write home about. Shooting sporadically into d air, obstruction of traffic and panic caused by those guys. Hmmmmm! i bow 4 Nija ooo d truth is that there is no security in this nation. We shud all be conscious of our environs.

I've had enough of Hausa / Fulani people stressing, aggravating and driving Nigerians worldwide to despair. Why must these pathetic fools cause fear, anxiety and death under the guise of religion? The biggest problem in the world today is terrorism by Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) members countries. OIC's current representative in Nigeria is Boko Haram (Arewa Consultative Forum). By every means necessary, our so called Federal Republic of Nigeria shall NEVER become Islamic (Arm-Chopping & Hanging) Republic of Nigeria. There shall be NO Star and Crescent or islamic symbol on Nigerian flag. We DON'T want sharia law. Islamic law is inchoate, antithetical, inappropriate and prejudicial to the unity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Hausa / Fulani people are responsible for multiple gun, bomb and suicide attacks in northern Nigeria.

Very dumb move, can you fight bomb with cutlass and amulets?

OPC should not be given a chance to start any more horrors in this country, we all know the monster created by the islamic sect is yet to be curbed, and also, the OPC sect are not saints either, so they can not play JUGDE&THE JURY at the same time.

God heal our nation.

people are using bombs and explosives to destroy a nation, and some fools come with guns and cutlass to fight them...isn't that ridiculous.

The people to correct this issue are the nation's security forces and machineries.

OPC are just making noise and seeking attention they've lost long time ago.

I know Naijas are smarter than that but sometimes we think/act senseless.

Boko Haram bombs, they have technology and use bombs, so why the hell do I see these men with cutlass. I want to see them with real guns, machines, etc to put the boko haram in check, not just shooting in the air, go get the target. Nigerians, get it together, you can do better than that.
