You can still repeat things to someone that they already know when you're in burdening your heart to them. It is actually a very normal thing that people do. For example, you could be taking to your sister about some guy that cheated you, even though she already knows the background info, you can still say things like; he did this and that to me when I was the one that did this for him and sacrificed thst for him. I didn't even know this when we met etc, etc. your sister would know majority of what you're saying but would just give a listening ear just so you can let it all out. People talk like this all the time even when it's not the first time they're giving the information. Most important thing is that an abuser is being exposed. Anon 12:03, I'm not sure of their actual intention here but people can go into extreme detailing while unburdening their minds even to someone who already knows all the details. In your head, you're just trying to paint a clear picture to make your listener understand the full extent of the hurt you're feeling. At that moment, you wouldn't be thinking of information the listener already knows or the ones they don't know yet, you would just say it as it comes to your mind, you would even leave a lot of things out at times and then come back to them later on or at another time you're complaining about the same issues again. My own friend has a very dicey relationship with her siblings filled with jealousy, pride, ganging up against one person, cheating etc. Whenever they do something to her again and she's complaining, she always refers to things that had happened in the past that I already know about and I always try to advise her to take things easy and try to maintain peace. So it's possible this precious girl was doing something similar, although we can't say for sure but it's possible it wasn't a plan of hers' to leak the texts.
