24 hours after President Buhari disclosed that his government is in
talks with the Niger Delta militants to stem the tide of attacks on oil
installations in the region, notable militant group, Niger Delta
Avengers, released a statement on their website saying they are not
aware of such talks. Read their statement below ...
"Our
attention has been drawn to media report that the President is in touch
with Niger Delta agitators including the Niger Delta Avengers but the
truth is that we are not aware of any peace talk.
If there is any such peace talk, it means the President is talking to
their mercenaries set to disturb the genuine struggle of the agitators.
President Buhari led government is not sincere to the Nigeria people and
their foreign allies.
If we are to engage in any peace talk we made it clear that the
international community must be part of it. The President know our
demands. So they should stop deceiving the international oil companies,
the general public and the international community.

I have said before that this so called avengers are nothing but criminals sponsored by the corrupt politicians facing corruption charges. They say they have grievances but without giving the government an opportunity to dialogue or sort out their grudge they keep bombing and denying talking with anybody.
They keep destroying things that affects even the common man and their environment but we have never heard of any attack on the oil wells owned by Atiku or the so called northerners they talk about(It will also be very wrong for them to attack those wells). If they were real freedom fighters, they will understand that their message has been heard loud and clear, and it it time to see if government will try to implement their agreement.
All these bombings affects the very poor civil servants that don't really have enough savings for the rainy day. Because of shortfalls in revenue most states owe their workers for more than five months. They also destroy the environment, making it impossible for people there to fish or farm.
