As far as I am concerned, we are going through a phase in this nation that will hurt terribly at first but then things will get better. I believe that strongly. The truth of the matter is that while I am extremely wary of this Buhari's administration, I am of the opinion that waking up from deep slumber is a process that involves being shocked and bewildered. Welcome to change Nigerians..its gonna hurt like hell!

Can Nigerians be this insane? They think if Nigeria had continued with status quo, they won't be clad in rags by now? This hashtag is a raw manifestation of pathetic and laughable stupidity that has kept Nigeria where it is today. Nigeria will be a much better country without animals like the fellows propagating this stupidity of a hashtag.

Anonymous said...

Even though a lot of this was said in humour, quite a number of us are serious about it.
Truth is; our ONLY source of Forex lost its value by over 75%. Same thing would've happened in '08/09 during the global economic downturn but CBN used our foreign reserves and Excess Crude Account which had over $40m and almost $10m to stabilize the Naira. These monies were saved by Obasanjo's govt. This time around, no savings could be called upon to rescue the Naira.
Taken together, I believe we should thank God for this situation. We've been too unserious for too long. Now is the time to reorder priorities as individuals and as a nation.

rednaxela said...

Lol no chills at all. APC led government will still let you guys know that, the oil price ranged from $65-150 per barrel and now it's between $25-35.
So the excuse is readily available to dish out. Even lai Mohammed said it on Channels TV that, they Would have to scale back on their campaign promises due to the current realities on ground.
I dey pity them now self. Clearly they didn't carry out any feasibility study.

I hardly comment but i think this is very stupid. Read about developed countries and you will know that they all passed through times like dis... We should even be more bothered if things look rosy cuz dats wen you will know govt is just saving face. The depth of corruption over the years( under PDP rule) killed Nigeria. To have a better Nigeria, we have to treat the root cause n this means we have to pass thruough this, what we make out of it is what determines how good Nigeria will become but it is soooo not funny and i say NO to backward movement enough is enough..... our silver lining will come in Jesus Name... We should aim at getting it right n not just doing face level cosmetics

#wemustkillcorruption! to all those clamouring "bringbackourcorruption" Corruption is an ill wind that blows no good! it is true the suffering is much now but there will be light at the end of the tunnel! the road to the promise land was never hala coaster but returning to Egypt was never a better option! besides what we are seeing now is "a fight back" of corruption trying to deceive us! Dollar is N400 as against N180; bag of rice N14,000 as against N8,500; Agbalumo now with one seed as against its former five seeds; No fuel; no electricity etc. these are just handy works of corrupt past leaders fighting back! recall that after Ifeanyi Ubah's comment, there was a change in Dollar/Naira rate. it is very unfortunate we are import based economy! we import almost everything; so with the downturn in crude oil price, we now have less foreign reserve to fund our taste for foreign made goods but that should not mean we should call for a return of corruption which has kept us where we are today! i will be an exception to this. i remain optimistic that things will get better soonest! for i reckon that the suffering of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us - Rom. 8:18. let's all join hands together to fight corruption. #wemustkillcorruption! cheers

The writer just showed that most Nigerians are dull and not literate. Its not everyone that has a degree that is educated. This is where we know people that are really intelligent. This is not about the present government, its a fact that we do not have foreign reserves because its been looted by corrupt Nigerians. For a country that only relies on oil to survive, this is the result of not having back up plans for the economy now that oil prices have fallen.
We have to pass through this phase if we must enjoy the dividends of democracy.
For those that are clamouring for Corruption to come back, you need to get more education and do research, otherwise we will not have any sane thing to hand over to our children. Were the writer my employee,she/he would be fired for lacking skills and business acumen.

People should not misinterprete the Bringbackcorruption slogan. It is just an indirect way of saying that things have gone worse under a government fighting corruption than under a government accused of being corrupt. It would be stupid of any one to support corruption. But we are in a situation now in which people's hopes have been dashed. So they now feel betrayed and being deceived into a phantom change. So they now prefer the former government where things were better. Not really that they prefer corruption. So let's get the joke right

I am so ashamed at most comments here, and by youths - just a reflection of the level of decadence in our educational system. If Dr Goodluck Jonathan had continued as President, it would have been just a matter of time for the country to burst/crumbled and be leveled to the ground. How many people are aware that under Dr Goodluck Jonathan, the Ministry of Finance/DMO had issued bonds totaling N465Billion to run govt expenses and pay salaries of Federal Govt workers, from December 2014 - March 2015? We are all going through the sufferings of the persistent financial rape and lack of vision by most of our past leaders at the Federal, State and Local Govt levels. We, Nigerians, must change our lifestyles and mindsets - we only consume luxury items without producing the most basic needs of life. Is it not shameful that we still import food (especially rice, grains and cereals) and drinks (wine, champagne, fruit drinks)? Let the exchange rate increase to N1,000: $1. May be we will start thinking and being innovative - we, Nigerians, are a brilliant race and a future global Super Power. Finally, whether we like it or not, we must drastically minimize or better still KILL corruption in the public service! If that is the only thing President Buhari is able to achieve in his first 4years, I am wholly and totally in support of him and his government. He would have created a veritable foundation for real development and effective utilization of our resources.

I'm sure if God had not helped oust Jonathan out of office most of

I sincerely believe that the writer of this joke just
carried out a research on how shallow the intelligence of
our youths are. Because the number of senseless comments
far outweighs the few critically sensible ones.
That's why so many corrupt and dubious politicians have succeeded in
playing upon the intelligence of the youths using the social media.
Very recent one was that of Dr. Doyin Okupe's allegation against the Vice president.
He already knew how shallow the minds of Nigerian youths are
what he was not able to achieve in US during the campaign for Jonathan
where he was booed for making false allegation against PMB.

In this part of the world, we dig our own graves. This is corruption fighting back. For everyone claiming to bring back corruption, May God rule their lives like Goodluck Jonathan, Put a Dasuki into their finances, Put an Abba Moro into their Career and a Deziani virus into their health system. I believe most of them will say amen to this because its their utmost prayer. Amen (x1000!)
