TF? PHEDC distributes electricity with metal pole... (photos)
A LIB reader just sent this in. This is the metal pole distributed by the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company at 25 Chamley Street in Calabar. Can they use metal for electricity, really?
Metal poles have been used in electricity distribution for ages, including high tension poles. What do you think "Christmas tree" poles are made of? As long as there is insulation they are absolutely safe!
This is a potential hazard waiting to explode. Authorities where are you people? The masses should be aware of the danger and stay away from it until change is made by substitution.
Porbeni DOYE A. It's No big deal, Steel structures have been reliably used to support transmission lines of even higher voltages ... say 132kv in Nigeria even before the invention of sliced bread, without recording alarming Incidents. They are even more reliable than the frequently used wooden poles and have far more advantages.

STEEL POLES HAVE A LOT OF ADVANTAGES OVER WOODEN POLE EVEN IF IT IS NOT FREQUENTLY USED FOR LOWER VOLTAGES DISTRIBUTION.... REMEMBER THAT OUR 132KV LINES ARE SUPPORTED BY STEEL POLES AND WE HAVE LESSER OCCURENCE OF INCIDENTS ON THESE LINES.

It is well
Lol, dats naija for u...
Nawa oo..
Dis is bad na..

Na wa o, some people lack sense of reasoning, bad!
Automatic murder... They r not serious
They shld contact d relevant authority. Not just snapping and putting online. Delay can be dangerous!
What a wawuu, something urgent should be done to replace this death sentence, before it results to serious damage.
~BONARIO~says so via NOKIA LUMIA
Their wahala.
Is deadly
OMG! Are you kidding me? Are there no regulations guiding these operations? This is disaster waiting to happen.
Yes.... So dat our area boys won't be climbing d poles to perform cut ND join
Are they dumb enough not to know metal is a great conductor of electricity?
I wish them well in that zone..
They should be sued to court
It can be used depending on the type of metal.
Everything is possible in Nigeria
Everything is possible in Nigeria
Hian! I've never heard of such. Linda take note!
Is this in anyway safe? Someone please educate us!
Nah wah for ds pple oo
It can be used depending on the type of metal,eg aluminium poorly conducts electricity
No idea to your question
*LINDA MY LINDA*
Danger looming.
Heeei na dam sabi!
Help me ask them Lindaway.
This is really dangerous. They cant ooo
It is dangerous using metal.
Just hearing dis one oh!
Oh kwe.
Nothing wrong if there is good insulation between the wires and the pole.
Wires on NEPA national grid (133kva lines) run on steel pylons.
Na wa o! Hope it not electrocutes person o
This is seriously dangerous
Linda, it can be used because not all metals that are good conduct of electricity.
how are you sure is metal
Daft punks
Dis is risky.
#FINEST
Yes o. It can be used lindagatti
AJ MAIN BOY. ..
Regulatory body should act immediately.
Blood sucking demons! who does that?ever? their asses needs queries!
With Insulated wires i guess
Only in naija. Linda observe!
Only in Port Harcourt
... Merited happiness
Not funny and just drive pass dt place now and with my two kolokolo eyes, I saw dis mess now now... Nawa Ooo
Very bad...it can shock somebody to death
How true is this?
That's a non conducting metal you foolish Linda
Not all metals are conductors.
All I see is death trap

Lool, dum asses!
How we go take know..LINDA OBSERVE CAREFULLY
Hmm
#OnlyInNaija
Craziest thing I've ever seen!
It could be a metal with high resistivity dollop heads!
Seen....@ johnkoledoye@gmail.com

Just imagine ,smh,
Death trap
Na wao, maybe they want to burn people a life.
