the catholic church is against polygamy only the first wife is recognised and allowed to take communion the other two wives are not recognised the catholic faith believes in one man, one wife and will never encourage polygamy but then they will not send those women away for accompanying their husband to church for thanksgiving infact they can accompany him to church every sunday if they choose to, only that they'd be restricted to taking part in some of the church activities

I was surprised to see the dude in Church as I didn't think he was even a Christian...you know with the multiple marriages. I personally view it as a bit crazy for a guy in this day and age to marry more than one wife. I also think it's crazy to agree to such an arrangement.
HOWEVER, having said that, if the dude and wives go to Church to thank God then it says a lot to me. The main messages are do NOT judge! You don't know what relationship he has with his God...there is every chance that he has a better relationship with God that many 'Christians'.

I wonder why people are writing trash about Catholic and three wives. The church has never and will never advocate polygamy. Nobody can stop another from coming to church becos he is polygamist, even Christ Himself never did that. But there are rights and other things he will not be allowed to participate in. but then they will not send those women away for accompanying their husband to church for thanksgiving

I was surprised to see the dude in Church as I didn't think he was even a Christian...you know with the multiple marriages. I personally view it as a bit crazy for a guy in this day and age to marry more than one wife. I also think it's crazy to agree to such an arrangement.
HOWEVER, having said that, if the dude and wives go to Church to thank God then it says a lot to me. The main messages are do NOT judge! You don't know what relationship he has with his God...there is every chance that he has a better relationship with God that many 'Christians'.
For those who are going on about how the church has lost its mind, you remind me a LOT of those that criticised Jesus for keeping company with sinners. If the Church rejects them they are in my view not very Christ-like...isn't that the whole point of being a Christian? There's FAR too much religion in Nigeria these days and not nearly enough Christ-following.

OJB WAS A PASTOR IN SURULERE BACK IN THE LATE 90S. HE WAS PREACHING A MESSAGE OF GRACE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO SIN AND LIVE IN SIN. SUESS HE IS LIVING WITNESS TO HIS MESSAGE. THE GUY HAD ALWAYS STRUGGLED WITH GOD'S CALLING ON HIS LIFE. I HOPE THIS EXPERIENCE PUTS HIM ON COURSE.

For those who are ignorant of the doctrine of the Catholic church, the church forbids polygamy. However the Catholic church will never turn anyone away from the church or Christ if they come seeking him of their own accord and will always help them find their way back to the Lord.
For those that judge, I can only say that if you were allowed to be God, Mary magdalene, St Paul, the "good thief" would have never been granted mercy. Christ has a phrase for such people "take the log out of your eyes. ....".
