what do the film makers benefit from the film festival since the state govt's benefit is promoting tourism etc? the point of film festivals besides offering a forum for which film makers can show their "wares" so to speak, is also to offer them away to make money off their products by inviting film distributors, cable/network stations to see if they want to purchase the rights to the films shown etc. it provides a networking arena for actors, producers, directors, distributors, investors, network excutives etc.

So I ask, what is the point of this film festival? Because I don't see it written out in the synopsis that Linda has provided on her blog.
