Retired Exxon Mobil staff shares photo of his hand chopped off by kidnappers despite paying N5m ransom

Dr Idongesit Udom, a retired staff of ExxonMobil and the Proprietor of Sure Foundation Polytechnic, was kidnapped alongside two expatriates of the oil company from a hotel room in Eket on April 9th.

He was released on May 10th after paying N5 million ransom. Giving an update on his Facebook page, Elder Udom shared the photo of his chopped hand and wrote;

To God be the glory! I am alive through the extended mercy, pardon and love of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has forgiven my sins and has answered the prayers of all the Christians, Moslems in Nigeria, Cameroon, United Kingdom, United States, the World Over who prayed for 32 days of my captivity. . May the good Lord bless you all abundantly in Jesus name, Amen. May the good Lord bless the Governor of Akwa Ibom State and members of his executive Council, the presidency, the good people of Ukanafun LGA, My family and all the security agencies that had done everything possible to ensure my safe release. Though I was released with my right hand cut off, I am eternally grateful to my God for the new life. My life was over. Thanks to the government of Akwa Ibom State, all the pastors, ExxonMobil friends, all other FRIENDS and relatives who have provided for my hospital requirements. Elder Dr Idongesit Demas Udom..

This is horrible, it is an act of cowardice to go after innocent citizens who have done nothing wrong. Why don't they go after those bastards who stole Nigeria's money and put the whole country into this problem.

www.maximumagric.blogspot.com Well I sympathize with him. But the truth be told, I want to assume that he must have a bad record with them to have warranted such heinous act. Who knows if those boys are from his village where despite his position couldn't do anything tangible for them. If such acts is carried out on most of the looters of our common wealth, I believe, we will have a better society

Linda,
Please verify your stories before you put it up on your blog. Dr, Idongesit Udom was not kidnapped from a hotel room, he was abducted forcefully on his way to Church, in his hometown in Idung Nneke,Ukanafun LGA.Akwa-Ibom State. He wasn't kidnapped with any foreigner. Though the Foreigners were also kidnapped on the same day. Your team should do thorough check before giving you stories. please learn to be professional.
