According to Vanguard, Sagay disclosed this when he spoke at the conference on Promoting International Co-operation in Combating Illicit Financial Flows and Enhancing Asset Recovery to Foster Sustainable Development which held in Abuja.
He said that a recent study on corruption activities in Nigeria between 2006 to 2013, showed that the 55 government officials and businessmen illicitly enriched themselves with public funds during the administrations of these past leaders.
According to Sagay, the amount of funds stolen under the years in review, was a lot higher when fuel subsidy scam, billion arms purchase scam, hundreds of millions of dollars taken from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation by a former minister to bribe election officials in 2015, were taken into consideration.

well I think the money needs to be converted to dollars, as it was stolen in dollars and the world can see that we have the most useless government for many years... this is so disheartening when for instance we see that the quality of education available to we the masses. It only takes you to buy good education for your kids and for health care you need to know a very good doctor even if you have money...Years ago a class mate of mine died all because he couldn't afford to buy himself medicine not go to the hospital ooo but just over the counter medicine he couldn't afford. So these useless leaders we have are the murderers themselves. The fact that they don't carry guns but the roads that needs to be fixed that isn't, the hospitals that are not available for us, the schools that are not available to us to build our future leaders and technocrats...The Lord would judge them with time.....It is time for us as youths to screen any idiot before he is elected we need to screen by what have you done before and what do you plan to do , if after 6 months the most basic isn't done please lets use the social media to deal with them.....One Nigeria.....One love
