Some people feel making this into law can get people unjustly killed or jailed and there are those who feel that Nigerians should be worried now because this is a homophobic country. And in all sincerity I am also worried. I hope incidences like Aluu4 doesn't become rampant. People who are mistaken to be gay can get lynched by a mob because our government has officially made it a crime. You know how we like to take laws in our own hands and enforce jungle justice. I am a nurse working in one of the private hospitals. I just wanted to share some realistic statistics with your blog. This year so far we have lost about 35 children under the Age of 5 to malaria. Of the 35 more than half were HIV positive. These children did not die from complications caused by their virus they died from the effects of Fake drugs. It really saddens me to see how these politicians waste time on irrelevant issues. And I have come to the realisation that a government is a reflection of the conscience of the people. I absolutely support and commend Mr. President and the Senate for taking a stand against homosexuality. We certainly don't need to add this "mess" to all the wahala we already have in Nigeria. Homosexuality is not God's plan for mankind and nature speaks clearly of this.
Also, Linda you need not worry about people being lynched for being homosexuals, the penalty is imprisonment and not the death sentence so hardly will we see or hear of incidence of people being lynched except maybe in those part of our country where Sharia law is being practiced. God help us.
