She is improving her Environmental Research skills and acquiring a broader knowledge of the Environment and Energy field. She is also working in conjunction with the British Red Cross on their ongoing projects which focus on: UK flooding, Uganda, Bangladesh and The East Africa drought crisis.
We have to learn from the best in order to solve our own environmental issues and this is the task the beauty queen is undertaking.

Why the hell is Lagos State Government wasting tax payers money paying her school fees at expensive Kings College of University of London? Surely this is wrong. Why should tax payers fund her education? She and her family could never afford this, but tax payers are paying for it. When I went to University of London, my parents paid for mine. Your parents should pay for yours. Stop playing the system. Omowunmi Akinnifesi, stop milking the system. Stop. Enough is enough. You need to bloody pay your own way. As for your meaningless "Environmental Ambassador of Lagos State" it's not hard to know how you got it. You and whoever within Lagos State government that gave you this stupid and wasteful scholarship (which other people more deserving than you had no opportunity to apply for and not based on need or academic achievement) deserved to be flogged and jailed for FRAUD.

If it is, what are her qualifications for receiving this "scholarship"? What was her first degree? Was this open to the public?
If indeed it is, then it's such a shame that nothing's changed in Nigeria. It's equivalent to fraud and embezzlement. The fees for an MsC in Kings college (well over £9000) can be used for various environmental improvement programs or even as a start for outlining the solution to the Lekki floods.
Sounds like a case of Ambassador for the environment with " benefits

It is not a beans to get into Kings College but i just hope they are not using the State money to fund this girl's education. It would not be fair on all the poor people wasting away, all the Lagos state workers who are not paid their salaries on time if state funds are used for this girl's education.

I can't understand how people could be so jealous of this beautiful girl who has achieved a lot in her young life on the back of her hard work- I have spoken to her a couple of times and can tell you she is one of the smartest young women I have ever come across and besides, gaining admissions into King's College London is not easy at all but I am not surprised she got in!!

Believe me. A lot of fraudulelent cases goes on in Nigeria without being challenged. Y is she given a scholarship to go study wen such funds can be channelled into something more beneficial to Lagosians @ home. This is really unfair!.

This sort of thing happens and no one dare say anything or do anything to stop it because there are too many crooks in power. It is time to make a change. It is wrong to use government money in this bad economic period to finance Omowunmi's expensive education. In Lagos State, there are far more deserving projects, NGO and students from poor families who need financial assistance from Lagos State government, but don't and cant get any help because of people such as Omowunmi Akinnfesi, who (in collaboration with corrupt officials) have dried up the coffers of Lagos State Government.

Don't understand exactly what she is studying but i understand the need for more action concerning our environment. Lagos State is doing well to save Lagos from any possible environmental disaster and also ensuring women are participating in these efforts.
