"I was a house help before becoming a star" - Sexy singer, Maheeda

If you've never heard about her, well, now you have...:-)
The sexy singer became an orphan at 14, had a baby at 16, became a house help...but managed to make something of herself. She explains...
"I had a daughter when I was 16 and since I was an orphan, I was staying with an aunt and after I got pregnant, I went to live on my own. I wasn't kicked out, I left because I couldn't bear the mockery. I was all alone and took care of my pregnancy. I did a lot of things to survive. I was a house help for a period of time. I cleaned, washed, cooked for big people. Then I met someone and he turned my life around."
Maheeda is now a singer with a recently released 4th single. Her new video when you continue...

And this is why Nigeria will never move forward....Our so called class system and mind set is our biggest enemy ..... .... Why do we keep modern day slaves and call them House girls and house boys .... it is sad that OVER 50% OF NIGERIANS ABUSE THEIR MAIDS in one way or the other!!!!!!
First of all, why should a child as young as 9 be cleaning, cooking and taking care of "madams" kids ... why ??? If u have a child that young in ur house do the right thing and invest in them by sending them to school and treating them like one of yours ..
And if u happen to have some one of age dont look down on or discriminate just because they dont have the same privileges as your self .. .. ...
Maheeda is beautiful and talented :) !!!!

Truly inspirational story, and the music is quite good. In a country where all we hear about are the negative stuffs, there are amazing positives like this.

I hope her story inspires others to pursue their dreams.

Not bad...Youtubed her name and it appears that there is another Naija artist called Maheeda as well. Or maybe I am mistaken. Oh well, I wish her nothing but the best....

Anon 8:38, that's definitely a different way to look at the issue of househelps in Nigeria. I never crisply looked at it that way. Thank you
