Supreme Court dismisses petition against Cross Rivers state governor over alleged age falsification

The Supreme Court today validated the 2015 election of Cross Rivers state governor, Ben Ayade, dismissing a petition against him alleging he falsified his age during his registration for the PDP governorship primaries.

A member of PDP, Joe Agi, had approached the apex court to nullify the election of Ayade on the grounds that he falsified his age. The Supreme Court justices however ruled against the petition, saying the petitioner could not substantiate his claim.
