Resident doctors call off nationwide strike

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) have called off their strike action which they started on Monday June 20th.  In a statement signed by their president, Mohammed Askira, the group said the strike which they embarked on to protest the the non-payment of 10 months salaries of some of its members, was called off due to the hardship some Nigerians have faced since they started they strike.

The Federal government had on Tuesday June 21st, ordered the replacement of all resident doctors who failed to show up for work due to the strike action.
While calling off the strike, the President of the Resident doctors said they will be back to work fully on Monday June 27th. He urged the Federal government to implement the agreement it reached with the association before July 14th, assuring his colleagues that none of them would be victimised for joining the strike.

Doctors shouldn't be joked with for Christ's sake, how many people need to die before dullard Buhari understands this...?? anyways, it's not his fault. He's got enough forex to travel abroad anytime he's ill, so he hasn't got time for Nigerian doctors..

Yes Bonario, this isn't GEJ's govt, GEJ will never threaten to sack anyone or group of persons clamoring for their rights.. This is dullard Buhari's administration where democracy has been terminated and the masses are coerced into doing the FG's bidding. this administration has made this country a joke...

This Bonario strikes me as a very unintelligent fellow. You think placement is what matters or for government to honour the agreement signed years ago ? I wonder who allowed you to graduate.

Anonymous said...

I don't blame you for ur statement. You are not a doctor. SMH... Very ignorant....

First they train half baked doctors, no facilities to carry out their job, then no proper pay. Nigerians are dying from ordinary headaches. What a nation.
