Civil servants in Ekiti State have suspended their
four-week-old strike, following the signing of an agreement by the state
government with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress
(TUC) and Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), today June 24.
Both sides agreed that no staff and representative of any
union should be punished or victimized by a result if the strike. The
JNC Chairman, Comrade Oladipo Johnson also said the suspension of the
strike would allow for further consultations and expressed thanks to
workers for their support during the strike.
