Lol..you know..Africans didn't wear much in the way of clothing before the westerners arrived. Why wasnt it seen as sexualization in those ancient days. It was even the westerners who were obsessed with covering up. Now, the tables have turned. That's funny.

Nice saying

There is nothing wrong with wearing bum shorts, its mostly for comfort and to be free, trousers and skirt can be quite troubling.. your mind sexualize them, not their bum shorts.. and yes,its bad for kids dancing lewdly. But the positive part is kids get to learn about sexual issues early and get to make better decisions

You cannot be more correct, those of use that stand for using the rod are seen as old school. I really weep for our kids and their generation. Go to the Malls and cinemas in lagos especially the island and you'll see 10 11 and 12yr olds dressed indecently like immoral adults hookers.

It is really sad and a cause for seriously concern for parents and the society at large. Parents give the excuse of ohh they are children and it is a modern world forgetting that majority of them are sexually developed like adults already. Is this what we have become as a people sexualizing our kids? Look at the rate of moral decadence in the society, yet we have loads of churches all over the place. Copying the west has it's own devastating consequences.

We need to get it right and go back to our days of high moral standards, because every form of religious worship i know in nigeria supports it and frowns at indecency..

Tell them Sir... It's really worrisome! God help us to bring up our children in the way of the Lord.

So true and very sad indeed but that's the reality these days not sure what these parents r thinking. When the kids get molested or abused they look for everyone to blame than themselves and their lack of being able to instil the morals to their kids. What a shame.

Unknown said...

My goodness!! You are so right sir. Every children parties have been to and I watch kids dancing, I get scared. Even parents using body spray for kids. C'mon! They are kids(no matter how they sweat, they don't have body odour) not teenagers. That phase of their life is when personal neatness should be inculcated. You will see some girl children with purported "mild make up". Even during harmattan instead of using lip gloss (makes lips pouty/sexually attractive) why not use a lip balm for them (it heals chapped lips only)

The secondary school I attend u dare not use lip gloss, or chapstick, you can only use lip balm (mist of us the kids from average homes use "Robb" and also them no born you well to use brown powder nah white o with a stud "student earrings" even a chain wrist watch was not allowed it was strictly leather wrist watch (we were thought that the essence of wrist watch is to keep time for timeliness and you get to use the watch when u get to senior class) we were only allowed to use only anti perspirants (Roll-on) not perfume or cologne. While growing we often see this as being the "too much discipline "

But later I discovered that all this help us cut down our teenagehood excesses and help us grow focusing on what is concrete about life.

Parents, guardians, teachers need to know that every phase in a child's life (babyhood, childhood, teenagehood (the most turbulent stage) , young adulthood(less turbulent if teenagehood was handled properly) and adulthood) has a purpose in the formation of an individual's life. And it's what is written on their young mind that will form their life stance and it will be hard to curtail when they grow into adulthood.

The training should start from Nollywood Mr kanayo O kanayo.

Thanks, Mr. Kanayo. It has been really bad these recent days. Sex is now everything. Nude pregnancy photoshoots, nude photos to show your fitness status, hot and sexy as compliments that girls want to hear. Sometimes, I wonder what the motives behind those photos and sexualisation are. To make everyone want to have sex with them? Kids dressing these days is another topic, terrible dress sense is now the norm. All under the excuse that they feel comfortable in it. And when they grow up, probably walking around nude would mean nothing. What a generation we are raising. Ladies, hot and sexy objectify you. Be hot and sexy for your partner and not your co-worker or random strangers. Decency!!!

IT'S AMAZING HOW ITS ALWAYS MEN TELLING OR TRYING TO TELL WOMEN HOW TO DRESS BUT NEVER THE OTHER WAY AROUND. SEEING AS MEN ALWAYS FEEL LIKE THEY KNOW WHATS BEST FOR WOMEN, IF A WOMEN WERE TO GIVE A DOCTRINE ON HOW MEN SHOULD DRESS AND BEHAVE, IT'LL BE FULL ON WAR.

Godless parents= No fear of God!

Unknown said...

Everyone wants to be a Dad or a Mum but not all know what it takes to be one. Most child bearers today are not qualified to be called parents and most qualified parents today have resorted to imitating the unqualified in the name of swag, in thin, etc. Its a society thing folks and has to be fought drastically.

Moral decadence is been encouraged unknown to parent. You are termed primitive if you speak against indecency. Our new generation parents are failing us and they need to be cautioned before it's too late.

Anonymous said...

Anon 3.17 how dare you bring that gender bullcrap when we have a more pressing issue on the table , the need for we parents to curtail these excesses in the name of trend cannot be over emphasized lest we breed a society that causes teary eye which if my memory serves me right isn't far from what's happening already #DecencyIsA.Divine.Injunction #LordhelpOurChildren Amen.
