'All schools to resume September 22nd' - FG

The Federal government has directed all primary and secondary schools to resume on Monday September 22nd. The resumption date for schools had earlier been postponed to October 13th as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the Ebola virus in Nigeria.

My siblings will be so happy about this news, because they been so bored at home all this while, but the question i want to ask is, have FG been able to curb Ebola,to shift the resumption date, with the development in port-Harcourt,PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE. Miss indomie says so.

So wat is now the reason behind resuming earlier? Has de Ebola been successfully retained?

I'm out. ***CATCH ME IF U CAN***

What is the measure use by federal govt to ensure safety and the assurance that all the present victim gather are the only affected ones in Nigeria for now........I think a lasting solution should be provide for the affected body and curable drugs on ground in other nt to increase the numbers of carrier before schools resumption

Na wa! All because of the money private schools want to collect for September made them to put pressure on Jeg! Indeed! We have a weak president! Some of the politicians have private schools. If school resumes on October after illeya, many parents would be broke, and would be able to pay school fees on time.

I am so disappointed with the reaction of many Nigerians over the postponement of school resumption date by the FG. Many have forgotten that health is wealth, we need to see that the deadly EVD virus is totally contained before allowing our children to mix up freely in schools, because the younger the age, the less hygienic culture people are able to maintain.

Oooo No taught I will be at home till October I don't want to go to dat typical village NYSC posted me to *crying* it is well

Nigeria government are so stupid don't they know people have planned their calendar if they knew they will bring it down why didn't they wait a while before announcing that it will be on the 13th of October ....this is the reason why I hate this country they are not well organized in everything

This is Great News

So, have they contained the virus? Or is this based on pressure from private school proprietors who are thinking only about money?
What has changed since the earlier decision to reopen in October? This is what they had to say after the so called emergency meeting?
Last we heard, the virus is now in Port Harcourt, with the idiotic doctor (now deceased) happily exposing a couple hundreds of people to EVD.
It seems to me that the Government has, as usual, not put the welfare of its people into consideration.
I am yet to hear any serious justification for this decision.
May God help us.

Unknown said...

Pls federal government should extend the resumption dates of schools especially in port- harcourt because we really don't know the number of people with this Ebola virus. The late Greedy doctor Ik made contact with a lot of people via Child dedication and his hospital, these people also has made physical contact with other people. Words on the street is some of these people are on the run. Let them curb it first before resumption of schools.

Exactly my point. FG should park wella. Were they sleeping when they made the October 13 date? Some of us have taken financial risk with date in view only for them to wake from slumber and disrupt our plans. Naija is synonymous with instability.........

I really REALLY do not understand this crazy decision. When the resumption was postponed, the PH situation did not even exist. Now with over 400 under observation and probably others unknown, they decide to bring back the date?!!! But why?!!! How do we protect our children if the situation is not fully handled. Abeg o! Health before wealth.

Eya Ayambem said...

Really?

Anonymous said...

Lmao I thot na only me o, their disturbance na series!! But is it still safe for the kids what about ebola? *Nelly

Anonymous said...

This is absurd. So indecisive. I decided to get a ticket when it was announced. Lagos and rivers state cannot afford to resume till those under surveillance have been cleared. Not risking my child is not going back tillthere are no new cases for the weeks

Eze goes back to school! A disappointment for the kids who have had a very long holiday,

These private school owners are inhumane beasts. I shan't pay our return my child to school yet.

Anonymous said...

This is unacceptable! Government south's be ashamed. Our children's lives at risk at the because if some school owners. Jibberish

Anonymous said...

Corruption at work. If you are a parent in lagos and port Harcourt and you take your kids to school. I doubt if you love them

Anonymous said...

The day after the minister of health dais we had only one case left there was an outbreak in pory Harcourt. Is this the government we should listen to? Not I

If i was in Nigeria i will keep my children till i am very sure of what is going on. Parents please protect your children.

Nonsense, my child is staying at home till I am sure of what is up with Ebola. Those of u rejoicing , from ur comments don't have children, what is the disturbance of children compared to them bringing Ebola home? Rubbish.

Can d Ministers of Health and Education who claim to have contained Ebola feel free to shake hands with people now ? If not, y then put the lives of these innocent children who mingle freely at risk for reasons centred around greed? Do these people have children schooling in Nigeria under d age of ten? These people are heartless! What's d hurry about when even WHO has issued a warning dat d outbreak in PH may be worse than dat of Lagos. Y not wait and see if any new cases will spring up? Only a living child can get educated. Daft people.
