Coward ojukwu a typical igbo man too much mouth with no gut. Should be ashamed of running away instead of dying for the cause after wasting so many innocent igbo lives. Why would you start what you can't finish due to his selfishness and greed. I personally salute Kaduna Nzeogwu the real soldier who was ready to die for this nation, God bless his soul. Not to forget our heroes who took the battle to Ojukwu and made a coward of him, May their souls and the multitude that perished rest in peace.

Defended what till death. You pple should stop lying to urself. Ojukwu was a massive greedy coward who took d country to war den ran away when the heat got too hot. He didnt even wait to surrender. His 2nd in command philip effiong did that. He ran away like a pussy.

He only came bk to Nigeria after gowon gave him amnesty. After 1yr in d country he teamed up wt d same hausas (shagari) dt killed his pple & they both continued chopping money. And while he was busy chopping wt govt what did he do for ibos or SS. Lol. Afi Ikemba naa.

You pple need to read. I suggest philip effiongs book.

Some times when I think of Ojukwu, I don’t know how to describe him. But let me try it this way: Ojukwu was the watchman who noticed the presence of a great thief. He raised alarm and everyone hushed him to go back to sleep. He tried to confront the great thief and most of us slumbered back and accused him of disturbing the peace. Now we have woken up from our sleeping slumber only to find the great thief has gained advantage over the house owner. Try as we may it is now proving difficult. So we will always remember our great talisman watchman with great affection for noticing the thief when our heads were heavy and our eyes full of sleep. Our GREAT WATCHMAN REST IN PEACE"

Anonymous said...

He was a lone voice that shouted and cried in the wilderness about the type of wickedness that was meted against his people, but his people were adamant pursuring rats. May his soul continues to rest in peace

Anonymous said...

Rest in Peace our brother and mentor. It is said that what an old man sees stand by the tree, even when a child climbs a tree, he will not see. You were young but saw the future. You are a visionary. When many of the people of the country became envious of the success and intelligence of our people and wanted to wipe us out, you rightly predicted and formed an edge around us even with your resources. Though it pained me we didn't succeed in having a total secession then, but it helped out. If we had, I know Biafra would have been strong, rich and united in all ramification. Today again, they are treating us like outcasts even threatening to drown us in the country of our birth. Rest in peace. I have always said 'In unity we will succeed', in God we trust. Long live Ndigbo. No weapon fashioned against my people will prosper.

Hero? You must be out of your mind. He lived a cosy life while in exile in Ivory Coast funded by the government. While he left death and destruction in his country that never was. And the sad thing was that he dumped the woman who spent her life with him in exile for Bianca. What a leader!

I'm sorry but I personally don't understand why the Igbos worship this man. This man declared war on the rest of Nigeria, despite Gowon, the president of Ghana and other people in power, taking pains to dissuade him from doing so. He still went ahead and made his people perish. Then he ran away with his tail between his legs and left a dying Igbo tribe. His people suffered so much. The Yorubas will never worship such a man and neither will the Hausas. He exhibited the classic signs of a selfish coward by abandoning his people. He was a soldier and he initiated a cause he believed in, hence he should have stood his ground till the last minute, even unto death. I just don't get it whenever I hear an Igbo person still talk about Biafra. What?? Like...really?? Who enjoys identifying with such negative history? Oh yeah, it's got to be the Igbos. They love negative history! Go on youtube and search for 'Naij: The documentary'. Watch it and tell me what you think about Ojukwu then. You will see footage that will make you nearly weep. Those Igbo people really suffered and it was unneccessary. And to think that those powerful men in power warned Ojukwu at the time not to start what he couldn't finish. He smiled with them and said okay. Then turned his backs on them and declared war shortly after. Typical Igbo man! If some of them greet you 'good morning', you better go outside and check the sky to verify what time of day it is. Deceptive to the core! Till Igbos leave the past behind and forge forward, they will continue to be left out of the progress of Nigeria. To move forward, you must think ahead and plan for the future...not bury your head in the past. Till now, some of you guys are still talking about Biafra. Biafra was billed to fail right from the start because its conception was faulty. I like Ojukwu as a person but he made big mistakes as a leader. He was only human. Let's all move on. He's dead and has done his part. You do yours. Shikena!
