Of course it is Americanized! That's why it is called broadway. What exactly did you expect?Yoruba speaking actors and actresses. its not all about singing in broadway, you actually have to act and make it as real as possible. i actually saw the show here in NY and i thought it was amazing. Stop being an ignoramus!

We Nigerians never appreciate anything. Fela died since !997 & we all had (& still have) the opportunity to immortalize hime but we did nothing about it, now u aasking if its authentic or americanized. Listen to urself!!!

I never went to the Shrine, so I can't compare to Fela. However, this show was great. Band was on point, dancers were toh bahd, Sayr Njugauh try, the storyline they concentrated on made sense. For the 3 plus hours I was at the show, I was captivated. Worth the 35K... now if more people would take cue and even stage smaller productions on other Nigerians past and present, I'd be happy.
