Quick thinking police officer saves a family of 6 from a woman who wanted them dead

Ehon is the one in the orange dress
A woman, Lauretta Ehon flagged down members of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command who were patrolling the axis of Ogudu Ori-Oke Ogudu at about 5:30pm over the weekend and told them that some armed robbers just snatched her 2012 Toyota Camry.

Immediately, Police Inspector, Christian Onawona who was with his men responded to her plea and gave chase to the said stolen car. Unfortunately, they got stuck in traffic so the Inspector alighted from the official car and took a bike in order to give chase and capture the alleged robbers.

However, the occupants of the car being chased were unaware of the pursuit of their car until the policeman caught up with them and fired a warning shot into the air.

But when the police approached the car, he found 6 occupants in the car, three females, one male- Mr Wasiu Balogun and two toddlers-a 1 year old and a 2 year old who were all going to a social gathering.

The police later found out that Ehon's alarm was false.

What actually happened was that Ehon's husband and the owner of the car transacted a business which had to do with clearing of a Tokunbo car from overseas 6 years ago.
Unfortunately, the vehicle went into demurrage after Mr Ehon paid the clearing agent but he settled with Mr Balogun and gave the car to him.

However, his embittered wife said she would get the money from Mr. Balogun any time she saw him.
So when she saw the car on that day, she decided to lie that they were robbers hoping the police would shoot at them before they (the occupants of the car) had a chance to explain. Unknowing to her, Mr Balogun who transacted business with her husband wasn't in the car on that day.

One of the occupants  in the car, Bisola Balogun, who was very thankful to the officer said that she was full of praises to the officer who pursued them for not misuing his weapon by shooting at them directly. She said
“In fact, I am still at shock. If it were to be another police officer, it is possible that he might shoot our car and anything could have happened. We thank God and appreciate the officer for applying uncommon wisdom in handling the matter”.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Dolapo Badmos, the police officer showed experience and bravery in handling the issue, if not for him, the entire event could have turned against the police.
Lauretta Ehon has since been arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, for prosecution.

Wisdom is the principal thing, thank God for a sane police officer.
So many has been victims of jungle justice but for the wisdom applied, the woman that raised false alarm should be taught a lesson and this shall be a lesson for such people.

Evil woman (mrs Ehon). First hearing a Nigerian police applying uncommon wisdom. #Odia

Wicked woman.

Unknown said...

How stupid some people can be! They allow their hate to drive them into making very inconsiderate and heartless decisions impulsively. I hope she gets enough time for good behind bars. Kudos to the Cop who allowed divine wisdom to be his guide.

Hian! God help us all. Linda take note!

Would have been another case of wrongly hurting innocent citizens. Hope the woman in question has been charged.

Thank God for the uncommon wisdom giving to the Police Officer .

That Ehon is certainly a devil in human form, may the Lord protect us from such creatures.
Imagine what would've happened if there was no traffic to obstruct the police vehicle and all the officers had descended at once on that family, it is most likely that at least one of them would most likely have fired direct shots before realising they were not robbers.
Thank God for the thoughtfulness and professionalism of the police officer.
Glory to God for preserving the lives of that family who were set up.

God will continue to save his children from evil; wickedness in High places.

nawa o.....

this is what any police officer in the same situation should have done simple!!!!
you can't fire your weapon at an alleged suspect until it is confirmed to be true and even the person is really a suspect you don't have any right to shoot at the person unless he/she has a weapon only then you can shoot to defend yourself.....

these are simple rules of engagement in the Armed Forces that cadet members learn in there first year!!!!!
it's only an untrained police officer with no proper orientation that can go against these rules!!!!

God will always protect His own. See gbese oooo. What kind of evil woman is this? Nemesis has catch up with her. Thank God giving that police officer uncommon sense. I cover my family with the Blood of Jesus Christ. What a Mighty God we serve!.

Bitterness is a prison indeed... Six years?

But what really bothers me here is that Nigerians have grown so accustomed to the improper operations of Force men in Nigeria, mainly the police that they actually see it as "Divine Wisdom" when a police officer does the correct thing! Ah! Its even more painful that even the Force itself sees it as Wisdom!

What in the name of God do they tell these policemen in training?!
God will not allow us fall victims to clueless force men o...
