I mean, if by the time you are leaving secondary school, you are not well equipped with basic English for general communication (and other skills), it will be a near done-for case...
I mean, like you can't go study Statistics without having been proficient in Mathematics and Further Mathematics while at the secondary level or else, you'll just grope through and it will be a classic case of education-with-tears unless the will to adequately position ones self is there, and there will be little time for that in a University.
Our graduates quality is lowering by the year. If parents don't take the bull by the horn, we are in trouble 'cuz waiting for the government and society to take good charge is a risky.
Tho' I'm not practicing what I read in Uni, I could do much of all I'm doing at the moment from the time I finished secondary school albeit, less professionally. University was just a good experience to better hone ones self for some and an absolutely new learning experience for others. For many today, just go get the certificate by all means necessary.
