Jeta Amata's Black Gold Tops CNN Movie Review Chart

Jeta Amata's yet to be released movie about the Naija Delta, Black Gold, which stars several Hollywood actors, is currently generating a lot attention outside Nigeria. The movie was recently on the top list on CNN's movie review.

If these people are showing this much interest in a movie that's not even out yet, imagine when it comes out. Who knows, it could get an Oscar nomination for best foreign film next year. An Algerian film was nominated this year...so it's possible...

Yes CNN is the bellwether for movie ratings and reviews... Forget the fact that it is dead last in cable news ratings, All 400 members of its remaining audience are bound to hit the cinemas hard the moment the movie hits the cineplex...

Lol

Btw foreign language means the film is in a language other than English lol

So maybe best foreign pick, but foreign language, no way...

'Big Daddy Dickum' Down' - you are obviously based in America. It screams out that you are. The movie world (believe it or not) does not revolve around just the audience in America, there are other people around the globe too! Na wa O... for a Naija, you really sound bad. America has messed with your mind a bit. Come home!!

uhmm CNN is trying to buy interest of Nigerians....puhlease!!!

The movie is gonna be HOTT i guess, but the viewing public rely on notable critics like "Ebert/Roeper", NBC/ABC morning show critics, NY Times, etc

why didnt the producers enter this movie for Sundance???? cos i couldnt find it on any major Film Festival listing.....The algerian movie did its trek of the International film festival circuit.....Black Gold needs to do thesame before the Academy will recognize it

Last I checked, CNN was based in ATL in US of A, and that's what L was referring to, same with the Academy Awards, US academy of arts not world academy of arts...

so yes, in this case, Yankee is wussup...

And what is the source for this story? There is no mention of it at all on CNN's site and CNN doesn't even have a movie review chart to begin with!

Where does this even come from?

This movie would never be recognized by the Academy, regardless of which festivals it goes to.
