It was hard to believe dat a Nigerian man could commit Suicice, even if things might not going in the right direction for most Nigerians, they still hv the spirit of never say die talkless of some1 that his business was booming. God Dey!
It's not that they don't.. it's like, it's MOST UNLIKELY and EXTREMELY RARE, in all my life in lagos, I am yet to hear of a suicide case, except for one guy I heard about that owed the bag in VI... but suicide ke?.. when there's life there's hope. And we are very optimistic people, did I hear someone day I will clock a billionaire dis year... na so!
Not to say I know with any degree of certainty, but pray tell, why would the FBI get involved in a local suicide?
Only time FBI gets jurisdiction in a case is when an interstate crime is involved.
Uche Okafor allegedly hung himself, the county coroner will/has done a post mortem, and the local police or state police if the locals don't have the resources will conduct a crime scene analysis to determine if foul play was involved.
FBI has absolutely NADA to do with this case, except Okafor was involved in big time inter-state wuru wuru...
Anon January 25, 2011 1:20 PM; his family disputed the hanging story and when the police looked like they were doing a shoddy job, they called in the FBI. I hope they get to the bottom of this. Who dunnit?
The person or people who did this might be very close to him, I mean friends, business associate or relatives self. He knows them too well to open his door for whoever to come in. I pray they bring the culprit(s) to book.
Lol @ Anonymous 1.20pm. I just knew one ITK reader will see the need to educate and enlighten us on the intricate workings of the US police, FBI, CIA, NSA etc etc etc. Una wel done oh.
Meanwhile this is a tragic development and I hope they find the people responsible.
Nigerians do commit suicide. There was a student who shot himself because he had a quite a number of extra years and was depressed. I met him a few weeks before he killed himself and he looked quite happy. When people are depressed they can do anything. I hope everything is done to solve his murder. Whether he is local or not, justice is the most important thing
@Anonymous, what you claimed here is not true. FBI gets involved in federal crimes and other crimes that requires investigation beyond the scope of local law enforcement. There are many intra state murder cases that attracts the attention of the FBI and they take over the investigation and do it well. -Gbenga
Erm u can't just call FBI just like that. It has to be a federal case, or a case that govt deems worthy, if you're not happy with local police results, u cann a PI...
