Dana Air Crash Inquest Suspended Indefinitely

The Coroner’s inquest into the cause of June 3 Dana Air crash in Lagos has been suspended and postponed indefinitely, following a suit challenging the coroner’s jurisdiction.

The coroner’s jurisdiction in the matter is being questioned by a group, ‘Civil Aviation Round Table Initiative’, in a suit filed before the Federal High Court, Lagos.

Chinedu Ikedieze denies having a child

 

Yes, some sites actually reported that actor Chinedu Ikedieze and his wife of eight months Nneoma had a baby recently. A report he finds ridiculous. 

"Everybody knows my wife graduated from a fashion school a couple of weeks ago. Did she look pregnant or was she like a nursing mother? First Lady Patience Jonathan's health update: illness started in Dubai

The “food poisoning” condition that landed Mrs. Patience Jonathan in a hospital in Germany reportedly started in Dubai eleven days ago where she had gone to see a doctor because her hands were twitching.

Presidency sources said she had gone to Dubai after the recent African First Ladies Summit in Abuja, an event that imposed an unfamiliar and grueling schedule of meetings and late nights on Mrs. Jonathan, saying she needed some rest.

Actor Michael Clarke Duncan dies at 54

The Green Mile actor died today at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was being treated for a heart attack.

The Oscar nominated actor suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered. He was 54. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

Okada riders sue Lagos state government over new traffic laws

The Okada riders in Lagos, under the umbrella of All Nigerians Autobike Commercial Owners and Workers Association, today dragged the Lagos State Government to court over its new road traffic law.

The Okada riders are suing the state government for banning them from plying some major highways across Lagos. They want the courts to reverse the traffic law. Like it's possible!

Dear Linda, I read your post on a lady not liking her engagement ring and it reminded me of my own situation. My introduction is this Saturday and my wedding is in November, yet I don't even have an engagement ring.

He never even proposed to me. Each time I speak to him about it, he makes a joke of it. I feel its kind of absurd. I have always desired to be proposed to and given a ring before my introduction day. This has always been my childhood fantasy.

Is this normal? Are there married ladies out there who got married without an engagement ring? I want LIBERs to advise me honestly and not insult me .... Smiling .

Spain deports 27 Nigerians

Spanish authorities have deported 27 Nigerians for alleged armed robbery, drug trafficking, forgery and illegal immigration.

Police spokesman, Frank Mba said that the deportees were received at the international wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport,Lagos aboard a chartered Airline flight at about 07:30am on September 2 by officers of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau.

Man commits suicide in Surulere (Photos)

I got this exclusive photos and story from people who live in the area...Olaitan street in Masha, Surulere. According to eye witnesses, they woke up early Saturday morning and saw a man known in the area as Afeez climbing the PHCN high tension electric pole you see above. (Photo on the left). Afeez had told friends the previous day that he didn't want to live anymore. A large crowd gathered and repeatedly begged him to come down, which he eventually did.

After he got down, (Photo on the right - Afeez is the one in Lemon shirt), people started slapping him around and abusing him for wanting to commit suicide, instead of getting him help. His friends eventually carried him away and the crowd dispersed.

That same night, Afeez succeeded in killing himself. Continue reading...

Nigeria's First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, has been in a hospital in Germany in the last four days, Abuja State House sources have told SaharaReporters, undergoing treatment for food poisoning.

The sources say Mrs. Jonathan, who is also a Permanent Secretary in the Bayelsa State civil service, was airlifted to the hospital by an air ambulance in midweek under emergency medical conditions.

Barely three months after the reported birth of a baby with a mini-Quran in Mushin area of Lagos State, another oddity has occurred in Sagamu, Ogun State as a woman was said to have delivered a baby boy with an Islamic rosary, otherwise known as Tesbeu.

Investigation by Sunday Sun revealed that the boy was delivered on Tuesday at Rotoluwa Maternity Home along Aiyepe Road at about 11.45pm.

Mrs. Gbemisola Hamsat, a 35-year-old mother of five, was said to have been delivered of the baby and the rosary.

We all know about the very strict Lagos traffic laws and fines. Someone thinks this is probably the solution to prevent one-way driving in Lagos...instead of putting LASTMA officials on the roads who aren't trustworthy and also risking their lives.

Saves wasted man power hours and you are free to pass it as a road user if you have money for new set of tires. Lol. What do you guys think?

Man caught at MMIA with cocaine in roasted chicken

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), yesterday arrested a man named Vincent Chinweuwa, for allegedly smuggling 2.655kg of cocaine hidden inside roasted chicken at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

Vincent arrived MMIA on a Turkish Airline flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Chinweuwa (pictured above with chicken..hehe) said it took him three days to pack the cocaine inside the roasted chicken and was surprised that he was caught. Chinweuwa has been living in Brazil since 2006.

Lagos government demolish 'killer' pedestrian bridge at Ilasamaja

 

The Lagos State Government yesterday Sept 1st started demolishing the dilapidated pedestrian bridge at Sadiku Bus-stop in Ilasamaja area of Lagos, which was until yesterday still in use even though it was on the verge of collapse.

Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said the demolition and re-building of the bridge will take four months and were seen around the area yesterday assisting pedestrians to cross the highway and also to ensure free flow of traffic.

Lagos State Government said that the demolition was to avoid preventable loss of life

Dear LIB readers: I hate my engagement ring

My boyfriend of three years proposed to me just this Thursday night with the cheapest looking ring I've ever seen. He said the ring is expensive but it looks cheap and I hate everything about it. He said his sister picked the ring out for him. I'm not surprised she has no taste. Can I sell my ring and get another one for myself? I've seen a ring I want, should I discuss it with him or just get it without his knowledge?
