2016 World Pension Summit ‘Africa Special’ gets Glo support

Next Generation Network, Globacom, has been announced as the Diamond Partner of the 2016 World Pension Summit ‘Africa Special’ holding in Abuja next week. A statement from the company’s headquarters in Lagos stated that the event is an international platform for cross fertilization of ideas on pension matters and would be held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel on Tuesday, September 27 and Wednesday September 28, 2016....

The World Pension Summit ‘Africa Special’ is a yearly specialized Summit for Africa which is held in collaboration with the National Pension Commission of Nigeria. The first edition was held in Nigeria in 2014 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Nigerian Pension Reform Act of 2004.

“Pension Innovations: The African Perspective” is the theme of the 2016 summit which will be attended by African pension professionals as well as major stakeholders from around the globe.
Globacom said it decided to partner with the Pension Commission to host the 2016 event because it shared the vision of promoting a sustainable pension industry that positively impacts on the economic development of Nigeria. It said the vision will also guarantee better life for Nigerians and indeed Africans after retirement

“It is our belief that the summit will help address challenges in the pension industry to ensure better retirement life for millions of Nigerians. In addition to this, global attention will be on our country during the summit. We want to ensure a successful event by throwing our weight behind it,” Globacom stated.

Discussions at the summit will centre on “specific African pension innovations, key scenarios, and scheme developments. There will be presentations on global insights and best practices and these will be shared and discussed by renowned international experts,” the event organizers added.
Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, is expected to be a guest speaker at the forum, while experts from the African continent and beyond will also present papers.

They include Richard Dowden, Director of the Royal African Society, London, Alejandro Maldonado, MD of Mexican National Savings Commission, Mrs. Chinelo Anohu-Amazu, Director General of National Pension Commission; Dr. Ese Stephen Owie, Director & CEO of Centre for International Trade & Policy, Geneva; Solomon Adegbie-Quaynor of Client Leadership Group, International Finance Corporation; Sev Vettivetpillai, Partner and Global Head of Thematic Fund Businesses at the Abraaj Group, Walé Adeosun, Founder and CEO of Kuramo Capital Management, New York, and Wole Famurewa, Markets Editor, West Africa at CNBC Africa.

I dont like Glo. They treat their workers and staff anyhow and the network is useless. Very unstable network

I hate Glo because the chairman listens to people that he is not supposed to listen to. He listens to people like Sangowawa that is just after his pocket and what he can gain from the chairman and globacom. Sangowawa tells him lies about people he doesnt like and the chairman will sack the people without even investigating the lies properly. Sangowawa is building an empire in globacom where there is no empire. He want to control the business which he knows nothing about. He is so power drunk that he planted all his people in strategic positions to be using them to embezzle the chairman's money. I hope the chairman has written his will? Because if anything happens to him, Sangowawa will fight Adenuga's children and take over the company. I hope the chairman is wise sha because Sangowawa is desperate and wicked.

Glo & PenCom the worst partnership 1st of Glo network is the worst of them all, using cheap tariff to lure & maintain customer's loyalty. I can't count how many times this network has eaten my money without providing service (SMS). PenCom really need an overhauling it's high time the transfer window got open a lot of customers are disgruntled with their PFA (Trustfund Pensions for e.g) & they need to move to better PFAs but PenCom keeps stalling because of the bribe they get from PFAs...

Pencom should allow people in the private sector that were sacked unjustly to collect all their money at once. Please they should seriously look into it because the peanuts they will be paying monthly will not be enough to start a business
