He's not from Oyo state, (he's from Kwara) but lived in the Oyo state capital, Ibadan, for many many years. Now, the Oyo State Government has established an endowment fund for the late footballer's four children. This was made known recently by the Oyo state Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Dapo Lam Adeshina. According to him, the endowment fund will be managed in conjunction with Yekini's family.
The Oyo state government started the endowment fund with N5 million but are calling on well meaning Nigerians and corporate organizations to donate to the fund so that the late footballer's children will not suffer in his absence.

Nice move
Rashidi Yekini's 4 children will be lucky if they see even N1m of that N5m. Even if they're given the N5m, it can't last. The endowment fund should have been at least N25m.
Why was this fund not established to help Yekini when he was alive? Why now? This medicine after death.
nice one
VERY NICE..........THANK YOU OYO GOVT
Nigeria when his six feet, I just pray that wicked fathers brothers won't help them with the money and I thought he had just 2kids .......

Why didn't the govt do anything while he was alive?
What about all the other children in the state who have lost their fathers?
How about just improve the educational system for all and make schools more affordable

Nice gesture. But the question is will the true beneficiaries benefit from the fund??? With all of em Gbewiri we have in this country???
This is good until the scramble for the money starts
Linda dearest wy ar u botherin urself wit dese their fake gestures.where was d govnr wen he was sufferin.medicine afta death in deed. Lepa shandy
Nice effort. It would also have been nice if his mental health issues had been addressed.
This endownment does not make sense- why asking the rest of the populace to make donations to a fund for the children of a man who was a well known footballer and who actually made money from his profession??? Why not set up a fund to help the really needy???
My dear, the same thing just went tru my mind,I wish the kids well ohhhhhh
This is just PR for the Commissioner and Oyo State. He has two kids and one of them schools in the UK. They don't need endowment fund at all.
Give them money and that's all. 99% Politicians are not trustworthy in Nigeria. Whenever they are broke, they will chop the fund. Ole!
i heard he had just 3 kids, so he didnt put any academic foundation in place for his kids despite his success? so wot should the poor who dont av his privilege do? haba just 3 kids fa!!! comon! let each wife take care of her kid shikena!
