The Smith family - mother, daughter, and son - had been travelling to Disneyland in Paris for half term but their journey took on a sad turn as a passenger sitting in front of them turned when the flight had landed and told them they should not travel again because it is "disruptive for other people".
The mum, Michelle claims the woman was referring to her autistic daughter Sienna but before she could think of an adequate reply, the girl's protective elder brother already had one.
Kai Smith, the 10-year-old brother of Sienna, 5, faced the female passenger squarely and asked her "could you imagine if I discriminated against you just because you're different?" This response adequately shut the passenger up.
As
well as autism, Sienna also has a condition called idic15, meaning that
she has an extra chromosome. This can cause delays in language
development and motor skills. Since the incident, Kai has been inspired
to support his sister even further by organising a large-scale bike ride
after hearing his sister's school needed a new bus. The brave boy
revealed that his sister is "very important" to him.

Aww! Brave kid!
I have ADHD so I know what it feels like to be cognitively different from the rest of the world. If anything, the isolation that came with the ADHD has made me stronger, productive and independent. This world is such a mean place.
I love this boy already
For everyone who has autistic children, please don't loose hope... You are all brave
@Galore
Which one is ADHD pls educate me
Attention deficit hyperactive disorder
U ignorantly feel ur Internet access is just for linda ikeji's blog if not why wud u ask such a stupid question. Ask ur mother wat ADHD means. Fool!
Hmmm... Gud one .. Pple will always lack empathy
As a mother whose 5 year old daughter just got diagnosed with autism. I have been in denial. I have always been afraid and embarrased at how people see my princess. For a long while i refused to admit she is autistic. Instead i wud attribute her characters to something else such as paternal genes or any other thing but autism.
I wish linda could post more stories on autistic kids and how to cope and handle them. My princess is very precious to me

Its a hyperactivity disorder. People suffering from this are likely to be absent minded(lack concentration) hyperactive. They are hardly ever tired.

ADHD means attention deficit hyper activity disorder. Google it further.
See how they r suffering the poor boy. And no they should not be disrupting other paying passengers. It's sad. We emphasize. But I think the parents should have got her a special seat bc she is special

Wow!!! Smart boy, and deep. His reply is so adult. Lucky sister.
a thousand kisses to you kai
A special seat? You mean a private jet??? Do you know what autism is? It not a physical handicap.
If only the world could learn empathy. Do you know what it like to take care of a special need child? Imagine you have a baby that never grows up. Do you know how difficult life is for these families. Imagine you were in their shoes or imagine you have a child that is blind? Deaf? Cripple? A lot of people do. May you never have a problem.
I can really relate, I have an 8 year old with Autism. I left Nigeria last week to take him for medical check up. Do you know how anxious I was!! I was a nerve wreck by the time we arrive at our destination. You over prepare..anticipate every need.. On my flight from Lagos one man actually told my autistic child to shut up.
Do you know what the difference was when i got on my connecting flight with Non Nigerians...people actually came to say it will be well..it a phase, he will outgrow it.
I once saw a struggling mother that was close to tears struggling with a child in church...i walked up to offer to carry the child and told her it is well...I did not need to say I have one of too.
Ask the parent in your church or mosque how they are doing..teach your children empathy when they see other children with handicap.
