Anon 4.44 am, to my knowledge a mogul is an extremely powerful business person whose influence transcends international shores. I know J Simpson has a fashion line but I'm not sure it has crossed the borders of USA. However I suppose the US is a big enough market for her. Lots of Tom, Dick and Harry celebrities now call themselves 'fashion moguls'. So what should we call the people who established international designer brands that have been around for centuries? Calm down dear.
Whoever got this girl pregnant should be highly praised. I wonder how many rounds that took. Tony Romo tried, he failed. And so are numerous other ballers and artists.
At Dee Dee, when your fashion empire is estimated at $750 million and expected to reach a billion by year's end, you are a fashion mogul. If you think all of that money is coming from the U.S. alone, then kudos to you. If she found a rich man to align herself with, she'd be a gold digger. If she released a sex tape, she'd be Kim Kardashian. She was a pretty good singer who's parlayed that into a successful fashion empire. Her profits top the likes of Sean John and Kimora Lee's Baby Phat, both of whom are regarded as fashion moguls (Diddy has even won the coveted men's designer of the year award before). So yes, mad as you are, she is a fashion mogul.
Ajalah and Anon 4:30. It's not old news because she just confirmed the pregnancy. It was pretty obvious she was spotting a bump, but she never acknowledged it publicly until yesterday. For all you know she could've been rocking a fake bump for kicks (like many tried to speculate Beyonce was doing. Hiss).
Her fiance's name is Eric Johnson and he is a former NFL player with an Ivy League degree and and MBA. But the media loves referring to him as an unemployed man. Sadly, a woman cannot make more than her man or he'll be belittled like she runs things behind closed doors. Just like Stedman was derided despite his success because Oprah made tons more money.
And we wonder why some men are insecure about marrying successful or highly educated women. Apparently we should remain in the kitchen cooking and cleaning, and not trying to take the financial burden off our men.
I am not her biggest fan, but I applaud Jessica for not taking some of the rather low measures others have taken.
She was holding out for a big pay out to announce it as an "exclusive" to a magazine but nobody was biting so she had to release it herself on twitter. Nobody paid because it was the worst kept secret in the States. Congrats to her. I am glad it's finally out so make we hear word.
