The Workplace Youth Initiative partners with Oracle Academy and Smile Communications to empower youths with tech skills

The Workplace Youth Initiative, an NGO founded by The Workplace Centre Limited partnered with Oracle Academy to launch the maiden edition of ‘YouthInvest Initiative’. The training offered 25 Nigerian youths a free 4days Training on SQL Database. Smile Communication partnered with us to provide free internet for Training as this was a web-based training.

The training is aimed at reducing unemployment by impacting youths with the required skills and to enable them become entrepreneurs and also to become employable. The training was infused with soft skills and practical business aspects of the Oracle Product being learnt. The training will avail top participants an opportunity to participate in a further training for the attainment of a certification as Oracle Certified Junior Associate (OCJA).

The Workplace Youth Initiative will partner with organizations to place the trainees as Interns in organizations and they will have the opportunity to be enrolled in our Innovation Hub as Entrepreneurs and others will have priority access to get placed as Interns or full time jobs in various Tech Companies. Some of the trainees will also get freelance projects to work on through our Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Scheme.
