Nigerians forgive us, the god of soccer did not smile on us- NFF boss Amaju Pinnick

The president of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has called on soccer loving Nigerians to forgive the Super Eagles and the NFF after Nigeria missed out on AFCON 2017 qualification for the second time in two years following last night's loss to Egypt in Alexandria.

The draw for Russia 2018 World Cup will be conducted in June with the qualifying tournament to begin in October. Amaju says Nigerians should shift their focus to the World Cup qualification campaign.

“We are all disappointed we did qualify (for AFCON 2017),” said Pinnick to footballlive.ng “The god of soccer did not smile on us. I believe Nigerians should forgive us for us to move on. The focus now is to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. We will keep the Eagles busy during the FIFA friendly windows ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.”

Pinnick should get it straight that Nigerians are really angry and bitter about the super Eagles inability to qualify for 2 consecutive Nations Cup. Pinnick should not insult Nigerians with his stupid comment about the 'God of soccer not smiling'. He brought the kindergarten coach and called him the Pep Guardiola of Africa and now we have ended up disastrously. Pinnick and Oliseh went on a picnic when Nigerians needed them most. Since Oliseh was honourable enough to leave the job, Amaju Pinnick should hurry out of the NFF before Nigerains bring their wrath on him. RESIGN NOW PINICK

Did u guys tried appeasing him

This mad man pinick is the cause of our problem. He politicized every thing. He wanted to put his friend and politics colleague olis. And came up with one rubish to sack our best indigenous coach KESHI. Please come back KESHI

@ EKI GEORGE God bless your comment as a matter of fact the call for his resignation is long over due after the foolery he made of the selection of that clown called OLISEH.Shit like this only happens in 9ja where theres absolute disregard for merits.HOW ON EARTH Can you bring a manager who hasnt been tested in coaching for any club or country since he got his licence over 7 years ago to coach and you handed a BOY a MANS job.THE PICNICK or whatever his name is should do the Honourable thing and resign. And he even has the effontery to remain as NFF Boss.

Get real, Mr Pinnick! Your NFF led Board was myopic to have appointed a T.V pundit in the person of Mr. Oliseh and should face the consequences of your indiscretion in this failure.. Unfortunately the umbrella of FIFA does not permit such.. You guys ought to be sacked for this!

This fool should go and sit down, if i were Mr President, i will dissolve the board of NFF and sack Pinick.

We need a committed and dedicated NFF that will be 100% professional so they can allow the coach and players to concentrate without distractions.

Lets leave God of soccer out of this, the NFF messed up our team.
We have good players that require support and Siasia is not that bad even though he doesn't appear to be very tactical to me.

So what we lacked was that NFF president that will help bring out the best in the players and coaching crew and not the one that will be throwing parties and hosting events in Edo and Delta states even when our football is on fire.

I wish dem better luck next time. Linda take note!

NFF was the reason for the failure, the selfish manner the handle finance issues of our beloved sport has made it absolutely impossible for anybody with good motive to prosper. NFF have flourished on impunity over the years and depend on luck. Nigeria did not deserve hence they where beaten thanks to NFF money bags. Any good coach would have failed with our NFF style. We need total clean up in Glass House from Security man to Picnic. We have issues of our female team drinking garri during a world cup tournament, coach paying for meal of players not to talk of debts owned to coaching crew and players! What a House?

Sir, you are the architect of this and not God of soccer like you mentioned. We saw it coming and we shouted and you played it dirty until you saw Mr. Keshi out of the way and you were happy then. But now you can see that you have been playing dirty game with Nigeria and don't forget that you will account for your actions.
Let a Nigerian coach our boys and they can rule the world with the small grace we have. Give him mandate,FREE hand to operate and support him as necessary. DO NOT GAG HIM.
God is there watching all of us. May God save the soul of our dear country Nigeria. Toks

It's only those who have expectations that get disappointed! Pinnik is the architect of this misery!
