House of Representative members take delivery of new Peugoet cars

Members of the House of Representatives have taken delivery of 28 new Peugeot 508 series out of the 360 that is to be delivered to them before the end of the first quarter of next year. Sources at the National Assembly say 28 of the cars being provided by the Kaduna-based Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited were delivered last week while over 20 of the cars would be supplied this week.

The cars, according to the lawmakers, would be used during their oversight functions. Each member is expected to get one car and they are expected to drive in their cars whenever they go for oversight functions.

The lawmakers had in the 2016 budget allocated N3.6bn for the purchase of the cars at N10m each.

I was spinning my hat as I was reading this nonsense. I was thinking like why allocate car again, where they trekking before? As if that wasn't enough, the allocated car was 10million per car. Hia Peugeot of 10m in this recession. Nigeria is being raped every minute in our eyes since 1960 chai. I weep with freeborn this time around.
Let me not curse these old men because if I do. Your family just saved you all from my curse but God will still punish all of you.

Sharrap abeg they are entitled to official cars

Anonymous said...

You sharrap, pork like you @anon 7:27pm, if they are entitled to official cars means they shouldn't go for the one lesser that amount?

What happened to "buy made in Nigeria" who will patronize Innoson Motors?

For oversight function, you go in group of maybe 10 or more members not as individual. If they really want to do the job well, all they need is a tech hummer bus(per committee) that cost 20m or less. That way they can deliberate and interact on places visited etc.Soon we will have a generation of real change with fear of God and love of the citizenry @heart.
