Dear LIB Readers: To Date or Not to Date Him?

A reader of this blog needs your advice. Read it below...

I met this amazing, enterprising guy that comes from a good family background, he's nice and sweet, but the problem is; he has a health challenge, which is Trimenial Neurolagyia or something, it has to do with pain in the face and all.

Now the point is; to date or not to date him? He has been single for a while, my own fear is how bad can this whole challenge get? He wants to get serious but I'm scared. Is this a problem a young woman can deal with? Please I need your advice...

Bomb Making Factory Discovered in Suleja

Men of the State Security Service (SSS) yesterday Tuesday Sept 6, claimed to have discovered a bomb-making factory in Iku Village in Suleja, a town outside Abuja that has been hit by attacks in the past year.

Materials recovered included a gas cylinder, detonator materials and other items. Six people have so far been arrested.

According to a Top Industry Insider, the word Behind The Scenes at the VMAs was that Beyonce was wearing a prosthetic belly.

Our insider claims that Beyonce is in fact pregnant. But that she is not in her second trimester - she's only a little more than 8 WEEKS pregnant. Tells the insider, "She wanted the announcement to be dramatic, so she made sure she had a baby bump."

Really MTO? But then if you look at the photo on the right, taken a few days ago, you can clearly see Beyonce's obvious baby bump, and it doesn't look like - a little more than eight weeks pregnant.

Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olugbenga Ashiru, says no Nigerian has been attacked or harassed by rebel forces in Libya.

You see the problem with this country? How can a govt help its citizen if it doesn't even believe there's a problem? So our minister has not been watching all the reports on international media platforms about black Africans, including Nigerians being slaughtered, imprisoned and harassed in Libya?

The Game Speaks On Closet Gay Rappers In Hip Hop

In a recent interview, The Game said he had no problem with gays, he only has a problem with gays who pretend to be straight. And he also talks about possibly having worked with closeted gay rappers..

"I don't have a problem with gay people. Like, Beyonce should've said, 'Who run the world? Gays,' because they're everywhere and rightfully so. Do you. It's a free country. Be gay, you can do that."

Gunmen attack Daddy Showkey again

Less than a month after some unidentified gunmen visited his home in Ojodu and killed one of his aides (if you missed it, read it here), music star, John Asiemo, popularly known as Daddy Showkey, was again attacked on Thursday Sept 1, 2011, just three days after he came back from Delta, where he had escaped to after the first attack.

He tells Chidimma Obionwo of Encomium magazine...

These people are not armed robbers. Their aim is to take my life. They came to my house on that Thursday at around 1:30am and stayed till 3pm but couldn't enter my house because of the guard dogs barking continuously. They shot sporadically into the air for an hour and a half before they left. The matter has been reported at Ojodu Police HQ and the DPO has been sending his men to monitor my area since the incident. My next plan is to relocate my family. But for me, I will not abandon my house because of them.

Edo businessman, Rodney Ogagba, kidnapped in Lagos

 

What's with all these kidnappings naw, what's all this? Another person has been kidnapped in Lagos. His name Rodney Ogagba From Edo State. He was kidnapped on Saturday Morning September 3 at Alausa, Ikeja, just infront of Marwa Garden gate.

Mr Ogagba just returned From the US and was planning to open his new club right behind Sheraton, Ikeja. No contact from the kidnappers yet.

The question on my mind now is; how do these kidnappers know who to kidnap? They can't just pick people up randomly, so they must have done some kind of background check on their potential victims, and how do they get all the information they need? It has to be from an inside source. Family members, friends, colleagues of victims...

Abi, what do you guys think?

6 Dead in Third Mainland Bridge Crash

About 6 people died this afternoon on the Third Mainland Bridge, in Lagos, after an 18-seater bus coming from Ajah, and heading to Oshodi burst a rear tyre, causing the driver to lose control of the bus and colliding with the wall of the bridge.

At least six passengers were said to have lost their lives, while some were seriously injured. Eyewitnesses took the injured to the hospital. So sad! May they RIP!

38yr old woman bathed with acid by ex-lover

38year-old Ms. Paulina Oghenemere, an indigene of Kokori in Ethiope –East Local Government Area of Delta State, fasted and prayed  on  August 27, 2010, to cast away the demon tormenting her life. Yet, it was the devil in her green-eyed  lover, a father of four, simply identified as Mr. Difference, that knocked on her door at 5 a.m. the next day, and since that ill-fated Thursday when he poured a substance, believed to be concentrated hydrochloric acid, on her face, Paulina's life has never remained the same.

Family of 8 wiped out in Jos midnight attack

 

In the early hours of yesterday Sunday Sept 4, Fulani Herdsmen massacred a family of eight, a man, Mr. Chollom Gyang, his wife, Hannatu and six children, including a four-month old baby, in a village in Barkin Ladi LGA, Heipang, near Jos. The victims were killed while they were sleeping and the killers escaped into the bush immediately after the killings. They used machetes and guns. Even on a 4month old? Some people will not die well I swear!

And this is just a week after another family of eight were wiped out by Fulani Herdsmen. And no single person has been arrested for any of the murders...

I hear in some parts of Jos, you hear gun shots day and night...and nobody is doing anything to bring peace to that region...is it even possible? Will the mayhem ever stop in Jos?

Essence loses car to armed robbers

The sad incident happened yesterday Sunday Sept 4 in the Egbeda area of Lagos.

The original owners of the car, three armed men, approached her as she stepped out of the car when she went to visit her parents and robbed her of everything on her, then locked her in an abandoned bus around the area and sped off with the car.

The worst part is that she got the car recently. This country sef...very insecure.

The stolen car is a Silver/Gold Nissan Altima with registration number CD 674 AKD, engine number - 495312GK424, chasis number IN4DLOID9YC246930. Hopefully, it will be found.

Tyranny? Cameroon's President declares bid for another term after 29 year reign

 

Cameroon's President, Paul Biya, 78, today made an official bid for re-election in the forthcoming October elections, after almost 29 years in the seat of power.

Biya is one of Africa's longest-standing heads of state. He benefited from a 2008 constitutional amendment scrapping limits to presidential terms.

And Cameroonians will just siddon look? Hmmmm....

Finally a new winner has emerged for the 4th Elite Model look edition - Chinwe Princess Ejere

On Saturday 3rd of September 2011 at the Civic Centre in Lagos. The 2011 Elite Model Look Nigeria picked a new winner who would represent Nigeria at the 2011 Elite Model Look International competition in China later this year.

This model would join the ranks of Tracy Onyekachukwu, Annette Begg and Chika Emmanuelle who have won previous editions of the Elite Model Look Nigeria competition.

In the end, 17 year old student, Chinwe Princess Ejere was chosen. She will be joining other girls in china for the international competition in November.
