This act is not to be condoned at all, I know worst acts go on in several churches all across black Africa all in the name of religion...this one's caught on camera & I can't believe there're people who feel it's right to slap an innocent defenseless girl...no I condemn this... more of these acts should be captured so they'll desist from business as usual. It's wrong.

i really dont know what the fuss is about. i may be mistaken but i dont think anybody asked her to go to that particular church. i dont know why we choose to say all sorts in the name of freedom. why dont we go to dubai and drink alcohol on the streets in the name of freedom? - but we can stay in church and use any expressions we like cos its church... and pls check the facts, Jesus flogged people. he did that when they condemmed the house of God to a den of thieves. please let us not begin to use vein expressions in church because we are expressing freedom. its still Church for christ sakes. Above all, she had a choice not to have been there. she must respect the culture of the place she choose to be.

I'm not putting a stamp of approval on what Oyedepo did here. He should not have slapped her in my opinion but for those saying Jesus never slapped. Did you read in your bible that he actually MADE WHIPS from CORDS (Jn 2:15) and then proceeded to whip people and cattle out of the temple. That is not the gentle Jesus o...so don't use the 'Jesus never slapped thing..'he did more than slapping. Again, for the records, Oyedepo was obviously not conducting deliverance on the woman. He also did not slap the others? His spirit was obviously vexed. Having said all, I don't condone the slapping...the spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet. That woman needed more light, I doubt she understood what she was saying. She needed to be taught and treated gently. She obviously comes across as an ignorant person.

This is violation of human right and abuse of serious kind.I will definitely pass this video clip to the appropriate authorities in the UK.Bishop Oyedepo or whatever he calls himself is a boastful man and cannot be serving God.this abused girl shows every respect by not hitting the man in response.

DEAR NIGERIANS,

I am writing this letter to let you guys know how overly religious you guys are. Not every man that claims he's of God is a man of God. Not everything is connected to witchcraft, some just need psychoanalysis. Not everything is connected to the devil, some just need some medical help. A "so called" man of God does not have any right to do whatever he pleases and put God's name to justify it.

Go read your Bible. I haven't read where Jesus slapped people to deliver them. If Jesus is not doing any of this, what gives preachers the right to do whatever they feel is right. I warning you guys, stop falling for false prophets, everything is not about miracles and wealth.
Many of Nigerians know of God, can quote the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, will be the first to announce they are a christian but don't live by HIS word. You can receive miracles all day, your money can multiply all day, you can get delivered as a witch or wizard but if you are not living according to HIS word, and not living in repentance, you going straight to hell.

Jesus said, many shall deliver in my name but when that day comes, I will say I never knew them. It's time for Nigerians to re evaluate their salvation, if it's not in line with the Bible, then you need to get on track or continue to live in deception, you have a choice.

I WOULD BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT I POST ABOUT A MAN OF GOD. FIRST OF ALL, FROM THIS VIDEO WE ONLY SEE A SMALL PORTION OF WHAT HAPPENED. WE DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE OR EVEN AFTER JUST THIS SMALL PART WE SAW. THE WOMAN WAS NOT PUSHED TO COME UP FRONT, SHE CAME UP WITH THE INTENTION OF GETTING DELIVERED,SHE KNEW SOMETHING WAS NOT RIGHT WITH HER AND SHE NEEDED DELIVERANCE."A WITCH FOR JESUS" THAT IS BLASPHEMY IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD. THE MAN OF GOD SLAPPED HER FOR THE UTTER DISRESPECT FOR GOD. MIND YOU, OUR GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD, HE ALSO SAYS WE CAN NOT BE LUKEWARM OR HE WILL SPEW US FROM HIS MOUTH.....IF THIS WOMAN DOESNT REPENT AND TRULY FIND GOD, SHE IS GOING TO HELL, WHICH IS FAR MORE PAINFUL THAN THIS SLAP SHE RECEIVED ANYWAYS, AND GOD HIMSELF SAID THAT. SO PLEASE LET US READ OUR BIBLES WELL, AND LET US NOT JUDGE.

Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith. He is the standard and no other Pastor is the standard as such am not overly disappointed cause Man is factory made to sin and even the Pastors are not exempted to err but grace saves us all.

for those of u saying what he did was right & dat Jesus used whip,it was not written that He flogged any1 but rather he drove out all the animals & overturned the table of the money changers. & what right does oyedepo have 2 condemn some1 who was made in the image & likeness of God...

So slapping is now deliverance! More of a man of God seeing himself as a god to his congregation.
What if the woman slapped him back??? The whole canaanland would've given her the beating of her life.
Na small small like that Revd King start.... And I don't give a damn what papa's SANs think of me. My 'prosperity' isn't affected!

This video is about so many things to everybody who has watched & listened.

I've had to ask myself some tough questions after going through the scenario a couple of times, like:

What is the responsible thing for the Oyedepo /Winners chapel Church to do in this instance?

If Oyedepo / Winners Chapel apologises, what next needs to be addressed?

Is God using this outcry of the public to tell us something about our Pastors and the church organisation?

What should our Pastors do to set an examplary leadership template for the future of the body of Christ?

Is there something that Oyedepo saw that we didn't see and if so, how should he have responded?

Did Oyedepo set himself up with his "style of leadership"?

Is this video an indication of how we as a nation currently treat our people?

How can we truly preserve the ideals & practices of Jesus Christ in today's style of church organisation?

Other than our lust to be identified with a public figure or popularity, are we truly attracted to God, when we identify ourselves with certain Pastors?

What is a deliverance session about and what did Jesus instruct about it?

Is a deliverance service to be publicly showcased?

What does God really expect from Pastors?

Is there anything that is fair in this world?

How ignorant or knowledgeable are all those searching for God?

Who is really serving God?

What will be the outcome of this public outcry?

For those who know Oyedepo - Pray for him and all his followers

For those who don't know him - Pray for him and all his followers

As for justice, if our Nigerian law punishes him or does not, we are all open books before God, and all our cases will be treated in due time on earth and in heaven.

The exchange between the pastor and the girl goes something like this:

Oyedepo: ‘You’ve been there for how long.’ (Presumably ‘there’ means the state of being a witch.)

Woman: I am not a witch. I am a witch for Jesus.’

Oyedepo: You are what?

Woman: My own witch is for Jesus. I am a witch for Jesus.

Oyedepo: You are foul devil. Do you know who you are talking to? Foul devil.

At this point Oyedepo slapped the young woman. He then returned to her after wandering briefly.

Oyedepo: Where are you from?

Girl: I am from Imo State.

Oyedepo: When did you join witchcraft?

Girl: I am not a witch. But I am a witch for Jesus.

Oyedepo: Jesus has no witches. You are a devil. (The girl tried to expostulate with him to no avail). You are not set for deliverance and you are free to go to hell.

Oyedepo then moved to the next young woman.

Oyedepo: When did you get in there?

Woman: I am not a witch, but I used to dream that I was with them.

Then Oyedepo says.

‘Everyone of you on this front (row) that speaks a lie, you are cut. Cut down.’

He finally moved on to a young man who said he could not stop thinking about sex.

"culled from -http://transparencyng.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=6017:bishop-oyedepo-shame-on-you&catid=59:guest&Itemid=37"

A lot of people have argued that this scenario is characteristic of some bible old testament examples, to justify Oyedepo's action. If we are talking about Jesus, the examples don't carry weight, because the old laws were abolished through Jesus.

Consequently, "truth be told", what the people and pastors DESIRE have been visited upon them.

My Prayer, "Wisdom & Knowledge come upon Pastors and People that they may DESIRE only that which is truly of God"

If i had been indoctrinated d way most kids r abt religion, hell i might have assumed myself many things.

TO SAY IT RIGHT......

Linda is not judging the pastor but only stating the fact about the case. Why on earth would he assault a person like that? The truth of the matter is so many of this "SO CALLED MEN OF GOD" have taking things too far.

Anonymous said...

Linda you are a tad bit too controversial. I will advise you to lay off the religious 'gist'. Maybe you have no deeper understanding of the things of God but I believe that the bible clearly says "touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm". You judging this man of God will get you no where. If he was wrong , let God be the judge and not you putting it up for public discourse. Avoid such controversies!. Shallom

whistle blower said...

The Bishop is not a man of God he is just a man who has taken advantage of Nigerians in the name of religion to enrich himself. On that day when God will separate the goats from the Sheep the truth shall be revealed. This a man accused of accruing excessive wealth to himself, sleeping with single and married women in the church, and now assaulting someone in public; yet some Nigerians choose to believe (in their ignorance) that he is God sent and means no harm (just like the witch doctors in pre-colonial times).

Anonymous said...

A quick question, are there levels or classes of sin? My understanding of Christianity will be NO. So assuming she actually is a Witch, does that set her apart from a liar and fornicator? In God's eyes they are all sinners, so why haven't he been slapping majority of his congregation if he is so peeved by sin. I do believe they are not all sin free. Also, economic status comes to play in here, if she was a daughter of a rich man and well educated will this happen? Nigerians, we are our own worst enemy.

That said, the man of God is only a man and was overwhelmed by "Righteous anger" over what the lady said about the God he serves. Pls leave the matter at that and move on.

Linda, l'm not surprised but disappointed at you for this post! For Christ sake, it was @ one of the Church's Shiloh event where it was announced that the witches that are in Church that day to come out. She didn't come out but was driven out by the power of God which was ready to deliver her. But the evil spirit in her was very arrogant & hence the slap! She wasn't assault please! @ the just concluded Shiloh 4 Yr 2011, people that came with all manner of JUJU stuffs were asked to come, they did & were delivered. Please mind what you post!

Anybody who says this lil girl deserves to be killed is an idiot!!! In the old testament, the witches and all were punished by death. In the new testament which totally wipes out the old testament, God came to tell the world that if you ask for forgiveness u shall be forgiven no matter ur sins!!!
Oyedepo was wrong, accept the truth!!

In a bid to condemn the man, y'all become stupid yourselves and start to lie which is where una go vex God. leave the man o!! If the woman no vex, why should you. Abi, na una receive slap? And if it cos u feel u want to fight for the defenseless, go face Goodluck Jonathan and Boko Haram. Then we'll know u r serious people.

pastor Oyedepo is a very lucky man. if this was in U.S. OR U.K, he would be in handcuffs and charged for assault. whether you love Oyedepo or hate him, you have to understand that he is a man and all men make mistakes. It was very wrong of him to slap that girl, even if she was a witch. This is not an attack on the pastor, this is just me saying the gospel truth, because am also a christian.

smoking Gun said...

This girl voluntarily came to this pastor for deliverance or spiritual help/prayers. if she was given a makeover, and came wearing expensive Gucci, or prada dress, would she have been slapped by the pastor?

smoking Gun said...

I love Oyedepo, and i have listened to some of his messages. But this is wrong. He has no business slapping that girl, come to think of it, how many people did Jesus slap? I think Oyedepo owes this girl an apology. This case reminds me of Paul been slapped in the bible by one of the elders, and Paul cursed the man and called him a whitewash wall, but later apologised. please read your bible.

shut da fuck up already flipping and bloody hypocrites on d last day so many so called christain would roast in d hottest part of hell if they donot repent! first of pastor oyedepo (and i use d term 'pastor' loosely here) was very wrong to slap that girl, that is assault! some of you read d bible upside down. when the prostitute was caught sinning and she was brought to Jesus, jesus asked the people without sins to cast the first stone, what happened after that? no one was sin-free so no one could cast d stone @ her. For all those trying to compare oyedepo with my Jesus, may God have mercy on you. Jesus drove those exchanging money in d temple, oyedepo no be Jesus! For those saying suffer not a witch to live, why did Jesus die then? does it mean that his death was in vain? Jesus came to fufill the law, therefore we are under grace. The grace of God s sufficient for all sinners, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Please nigerians its about time we remove the beam in our eyes before trying to remove the speck in other people's eyes!

Anonymous said...

all of u in support of oyedepo's action how come u never mentioned his comment of ''do you know who i am''? thats arrogance... what about when he said to the woman '' you are free to go to hell''??? you guys forgot that one too abi?! whether or not the lady blasphemed, she's still clearly a sinner as she has come out for deliverance, it only takes a man with spiritual understanding and wisdom to know what next to do, slapping her and making such comments were definitely the wrong decisions... what annoys me the most is that nigerians idolize pastors and cannot see anything wrong in their actions, until he comes and slaps u one day then maybe the scales will fall off ur eyes

hey people lets not get carried away here,Oyedepo was obviously carried away by his emotions but that does take anything away from the fact that he is a man of God...a couple examples;Apostle Peter indisputably a man of God and was with the Lord Jesus for 3 years, couldn't control his emotions when they came to arrest Jesus and used his sword to cut off somebody's ear, before Jesus healed the person...secondly Moses another man of God,who was temperamental not only called the Israelites a stiff-necked people but also hit the rock very hard(rock of Christ actually)contrary to God's instructions and he did that out of anger....so my question is would you say these two men (peter and Moses) are not men of God?

cressidachic said...

Wow!The news article with the most comments on LIB.it really shows how controversial this topic is.For you all who are taking sides with the "bishop",I understand how you all feel. However, just so you all know, the voice that said "I'm a witch for Jesus" is definitely not her physical voice but that of the demonic spirit that has possessed her and wanting to cast out that demonic spirit is not gonna be achieved by slapping the girl!I have seen deliverance sessions where worse blasphemous things were said and the men of God in charge didn't resort to physical assault.A "man of God" is not above mistakes so what u pple who are excusing his action shld be doing is to simply point out that he was wrong!SHIKENA!

PS:Pple like me are stale so even if this video was 2 years ago,I'm just seeing it.And BTW,Jesus used a cane to chase out pple from the temple, not to rebuke demonic spirits!

Wonders would never cease in our dear country but a melodrama bothering on criminality was recently introduced. I have never been befuddled about the Nigerian mess but the dramatic situation presented by the ever savvy, ambitious and suave businessman cum pastor, in the person of Pastor Oyedepo was another sore show.

Our ever vigilant and dynamic online press have remained the conscience of the nation so far, especially in these perilous times when Nigeria badly cries for a human representation of the same quality. The shame that Nigeria has become is ever manifested on daily basis and no arm of the decadent edifice has lived up to the broom in the ethical and conscience stake. Our political class remains our ever abiding albatross whilst our religious leaders actively partake in the growing shame. As someone once said, the name Nigeria has become a shame to behold. No politician in Nigeria today is worth the salt, which is the sad truth. No political party is out to redeem the situation, which is another truth Nigerians have to learn. If there is any doubt about the latter, a trip to Lagos State where the might of the state is overbearing against the legitimate aspiration of the citizenry in the boiling issue of the Lekki Toll plaza would convince any doubting Thomas. I have the greatest respect for Pastor David Oyedepo. Not as a man of God but as a good specimen of the Nigerian breed. Here is a savvy and suave business man who knows how to exploit what he has to achieve and consecrate what he desires. Pastor Oyedepo has built a business empire in the name of a religion. He has through good business sense and unparallel sagacity fed the gullible with the much exploited opium to achieve his material success in life. He remains the first Nigerian man of the robe to purchase a private jet. He is also the first to start the business of private universities. He is sleek and very intelligent. His world-wide business has his children manning the most viable branches overseas. Of course, I am referring to his church branches. He has ensured that even when he is no longer on the stage, the family business would remain solidly within the family confinement.

Anonymous said...

With all the firsts this suave business man has achieved, it was a surprise to watch a video detailing an unknown quality of this so-called man of God. I watched with mouth aghast! Transparency for Nigeria, in its online edition of 18th December 2011, under the headline: Pastor Oyedepo turned violent on the pulpit, showed a video containing very disturbing contents (http://transparencyng.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=6010:video-bishop-oyedepo-turns-violent-on-the-pulpit&catid=105:personality&Itemid=86).
I had always felt that some pastors were too intelligent to be caught partaking in the shame of witch hunting. I had always felt that Helen Ukpabio remained the empress in this unholy game. Little did I know that even the so-called intelligent ones actively took part in this shameful debacle. It is now clear that the whole of Christendom in Nigeria is built on fallacies, extortion and hood-winking. The Helen Ukpabio league actually applies to our so-called men of God, the agents of Mormon keeping the people in perpetual bondage and slavery.
The scene was a typical revival or crusade-like environment common amongst Nigerian Pentecostals. Few girls and boys were kneeling down on the stage in front of Pastor Oyedepo surrounded by his army of body guards and lieutenants. The video started with a girl who claimed to have come from Imo State. The video went as follows:
Pastor: You have been there for how long? (Question apparently in reference to membership of witchcraft).
Girl: I am not a witch. I am a witch for Jesus. My own witch is for Jesus.
Pastor: (Dumbfounded) you are what?!
Girl: I am not a witch. I am a witch for Jesus. My own witch is for Jesus.
Pastor: (Shaking with uncontrolled disbelief and anger) You are a foul devil. Do you know whom you are talking to? Foul devil (this was followed by a very hot slap!!)
Pastor (continued): Where are you from?
Girl: I am from Imo State. I am not a witch. I am a witch for Jesus.
Pastor: Jesus has no witches. You are a devil. You are not set for deliverance and you are free to go to hell.
Pastor moved on to another girl:
Pastor: When did you get in?
Girl 2: I am not a witch but I used to dream that I was with them.
Pastor: Every one of you on this front that speaks a lie, you are cut down. Cut down...
Apart from the comical nature of the whole scenario, which in the words of the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, became a “rofo-rofo” argument – “I no be witch, you be witch!” the serious aspect calls for deep introspection. The definitive stance of Nigerian Pentecostalism in ensuring that the congregation admits to a label in order to facilitate the superiority and the power of the clergy calls for a deep review. The serious social implication of being labelled a witch is unimaginable. The stigma is one that pervades every aspect of the victim's existence, leading to social and economic stigmatization and rejection, deteriorating quality of life, unimaginable vulnerabilities, including the possibility of being killed by a befuddled but outraged society. I was thinking that Pastor David Oyedepo was too suave and sophisticated to be caught in this age-old cheap Christianity stuff, albeit Helen Ukpabio style. Here again, I was proven wrong.

The proprietary or otherwise of ensuring that witches on earth are eliminated for Jesus is beyond me as I am not and has never been a student of theology. Nevertheless, daily knowledge of the Bible and common sense indicates that the whole purpose of Jesus mission on earth was to preach the good news based on love and forgiveness. He did not say based on violence, especially assault. Also, I vividly remember a part of the Holy Bible that states thus: “Judge not, and ye shall not be judged” (Matthew 7:1 and Luke 6:37). What came out of the brief video was a case of criminal assault on the part of Pastor David Oyedepo. Here was a poor defenceless girl, who was obviously trying to pass a message that was lost in the ambiguities of semantics to a pastor who was either too impatient or too naive to understand what she was trying to say. What she got in return was an unprovoked assault.
The question is must everyone who kneels down in front of a pastor admits to being a witch even if he/she is convinced that she is not? What message was the poor girl trying to pass to the ignorant pastor? Would it have served a better purpose if the pastor had asked the girl for an explanation of what she meant by her unusual statement? Why was the poor girl assaulted by the pastor? Is this case for the Nigerian Police to look into? Every human being has the fundamental right to freedom of religious practice and expression. If it must be stressed very hard here, witchcraft inclusive (if there was ever anything of such). The poor girl from Imo State defiantly stood her ground despite the intimidating presence of Pastor Oyedepo and his unprovoked assault. The story would perhaps have been different if she had admitted to being a witch who meets with colleagues at a defined coven. Then Pastor Oyedepo would have been happy and the mesmerized congregation would have erupted with abundant shouts of Halleluyah. But the girl from Imo was determined to spoil the show for our garrulous pastor and she got what she did not bargained for, a very hot slap! Even a member of Pastor Oyedepo's staff was aghast. Please watch the video and see the gentleman's reaction. His jaw dropped open when the pastor was putting up the show of shame – slapping the poor little girl.
Instances as the type demonstrated by Pastor Oyedepo, would in other climes lead to a very urgent government regulation of the conduct and proceedings of so-called faith revivals or crusades. It would also have led to instant arrest and prosecution of this ignorant pastor. The essence of ensuring that no citizen is harassed or molested in the expression of faith or religious belief would be rigorously pursued and protected. This, unfortunately, is not the case with Nigeria. Nigerian pastors behave as if they are Gods or something very close. They behave as if they are above the law. They show contempt and disrespect to their congregation. The only affection is for the currency that rolls out of the congregation pockets. The Nigerian populace, on its part, has shown an alarming tolerance and unbelievable stupidity in the face of this perfidy. We have continued to clap where we should have frowned at the frivolousness and debased behaviour of the impostors who have mortgaged our collective spirituality.

Pastor David Oyedepo needs to be told in clear terms that he went beyond the confines of civilized behaviour and the etiquettes required of someone occupying his type of office. If there was something he shamelessly committed in that barbaric piece, it was nothing but assault. The poor girl from Imo State deserves an unreserved apology from the powerful and rich Pastor David Oyedepo. Again, I anxiously await the response of the Nigerian community to this video of shame. I await, most especially, the response of our extensive Human Rights community and the legion of non-governmental organisations committed to protecting the rights of Nigerian females. Here is a poor and defenceless girl who was assaulted by a rich and powerful pastor. Her case calls for urgent support to pass home the message of civility even in the conduct of religious programmes. It is either Pastor Oyedepo apologises or is taken to court. There seems to be no other option.
The truth needs to be told that Nigerian Pastors are not Gods. They are mere mortals plainly benefitting from the stupidity of the mesmerized populace. They are charlatans and sycophants who are benefitting immensely from the ignorance of the masses. While we stupidly follow some smart crooks wearing the toga of pastors, the larger world has left us behind, making stupendous progress in the field of science and technology. We boast of the highest number of churches per streets in the world, our social and moral fabrics remain in tatters. Our crime record is monumental while social instability and insecurity remain our abiding bed fellows. The Nigerian socio-political terrace remains a mess, our political leadership tottering from unforgivable indecision to unbelievable corruption whilst promulgation of anti-people policies remains the order of the day. The name Nigerian is not an enamoured piece.
The constitutional role of the Nigeria Police Force comes into play in this debased scenario. A moribund organization mired in endemic corruption and stagnated by lack of efficiency and good will. Naturally, I expected the police to have swung into action unprompted. Video evidences are credible evidences as have been demonstrated in more civilized countries. No doubt, the Nigeria Police do not see anything wrong in the video under discourse. Even if something had been wrong, the personality involved would have created a hindrance. The Nigeria Police Force needs to remove itself from its self-imposed shackles and be more responsive to its responsibilities. A Nigerian citizen has just been assaulted and urgent action is required.
While boiling with indignation on the injustices inherent in this video of shame, once again, from a member of the discredited Nigerian Pentecostal fold, I hasten to add that ultimate justice is in the hands of God, and of course, in that of the Nigerian people. We shall make of our country and of our society whatever we desired it to be. Over to fellow Nigerians!

Covenant university is d most expensive university in Nigeria. Built on offering, seed, and tithe money from poor Nigerians who can't afford to send deir children to. Instead this university is for the elites children. Funny, Jesus Christ was humble, loving, meek, etc. Saving God is not foolishness

Linda!Linda!! It is obvious u have issues with this pastor... if u r not condemning him over the amount of fees charged by him ( which by the way was inflated by u cos i knw how much students there pay....my siblings attended d sch.Well it is a solid ploy by u 2 discredit him once again ), it is over something else.

While i do not support his slapping the lady, i understand his anger cos her statement was really blasphemous.

Just last night i saw the video 'n' i had a bet with my brothers that u will post d video...... well guess i won it thanks 2 u.

It seems u have turned urself 2 a demi god, who feels she can always judge others. If u r dat good n holy u will know what God says about taking one of his rights, which is judging others.

Don't have a problem with correcting others but it is WRONG when it is done MALICIOUSLY. Just hope u don't run into problems soon.

(Best comment ever!) U just said it all. @Linda, are u also witch for jesus? D slap really affected u.....

It is awfully irrational that someone who claimed to be a good sensible human being would see a thing like this and still find a pointless reason to cover it up instead of saying the truth. There’s nowhere in the bible Jesus beat or slapped a demon poses person neither did he oust any anyone to hell. The Mr. bishop has to know that the battle is of spirit and not flesh and blood, and if truly he has Gods power then he is not supposed to be acting on people confession rather than to follow the directions of Holy Spirit by knowing the mind of God concerning the problem and the best way to handle the situation to save the soul of the poor girl instead of banishing her to hell in such manner or can he treat his own children that way.

Christian life comes from Christ in himself and God has never cease from revealing things for his choosing servants. But the problem in the world today is that many of the so called men of god forced themselves to it and going on and on into misleading the masses on mental accent only for their self interest. You can check what is happening around the world these days mostly in the lives of the so called pastors and tell me who is to be believed. Because they normally go to study the bible in school after which the person will be ordain as a pastor at human ability and then he will start quoting from genesis to revelation in psychological tone of voice which is why none of them can be able to act on what they preach in exercising the mightiness in the name of our lord Jesus Christ because one can only study the word but cannot learn the authentic power of God anywhere.

This is why many would stand to pray and called the name of Jesus a million times in vain. But with the genuine power of God by mentioning the name in truth and spirit it will be effectively in your mouth and changing’s would begin to happen because the power of God is so real, authentic and forceful. Just as the bible has made us to understand that God is in spirit and those that will worship him would do so in truth and spirit. But they can only be known by their fruits and to those who have the genuine power of God they must be humble, sympathetic and lovely kind person and must know what it is to be loved and hated, praised and humiliated in order to maintain a balance between their responsibility to God and man. (John 16; 16, 19-22).

As matter of fact, TB Joshua prophesies concerning the death of the North Korean president two and three weeks ago has actually come to pass just as he said it. If you are a true servant whatever you would say for God must be infallible and accurate because God doesn’t tell lies and his words must surely come to pass. Also, to have Gods power is not about do you know who I am? Or by the amount of your fleet of cars and houses but remember what the bible said that the rich are not suppose to focus on their riches and the poor must not concentrate on their poverty because a man may be poor and sick in the body and yet be favorite and candidate of heaven.

So, we should know the truth and it shall set us free and not about the church you are attending and to always supporting your pastor in all things like many do here because the church and your pastor cannot stand to defend you on the judgment day. One can worship in any living church just as TB Joshua usually said but what matters is to let the people know the truth about the gospel of Christ Jesus which is (LOVE) and the only way to please God in order to make heaven. Meanwhile, the truth is there already but many choose to perish out of ignorance.

He slapped that girl because she was defenseless and he felt he had the right to do so. Maybe it is within his spiritual rights to do so i cant tell because i dont understand the ways and norms of spiritual deliverance. What those defending him should however ask themselves is that IF IT WAS OBAMA OR EVEN OBASANJO WOULD HE HAVE STILL FELT THE COMPUNCTION TO SLAP FOR JESUS? Oppression in church shouldnt be justified and kudos to Linda 4 posting this. I really dont care how long its happened.

this same girl came back a few weeks later for deliverance and gave her life to christ..........

Una come dey quote Old testament. Mary Magdalene had seven powerful witchcraft spirits... (luke 8:2; mark 16:9)yet, Jesus was able to win her soul. I am not judging any action, but action shall be judged according to intention... Hadit II. God will certainly judge. He knows the way to do it. Where do we turn to for comfort and salvation? If this girl were to be a millionnaire daughter, what will happen? We are watching. God did not ask us to curse, but to bless those who curse us (Luke 6:26; Matt. 5:44). Jesus is coming soon. If you think that you are on your feet, watchout , lest you fall. May god deliver and forgive all of us, Amen.@ no let anybody create fear in you cos that is what nigerians r known for.people who r defending doont even know the consistution of the church.

truth be told, whether what the girl said is blasphemy or not, the bishop had no right to take the law into his own hands by slapping her.

Is the slap suppose to be a form of deliverance or what? mtcheew!

thanks for this post anon. Linda has just shot herself in the foot in the most gruesome manner. i have seen so many american pastors slap people who come to their church and if Papa slapped her fine. i was there when i happened. i was right in front and saw it all Linda. so many shilohs ago. surprised you are angling for stale gist. how can one be called out and you ask the one their identity she says she a witch for Jesus??????????? have you ever heard of that in the bible those who are saying Jesus never slapped anyone. how do you know? have you not read that if all the acts of the Lord Jesus where recorded in books the whole world would not contain them? what is this Linda???!!!! what the hell are you doing to yourself. when the girl came out and began saying those things, my colleagues in the choir identified her and said that any time they are in the church bus with the girl they are frustrated. they say the things she does will make you loose whatever blessing you got being in church. that she makes their live miserably. therefore, people minimise the use of whatever bus she is on. i was shocked when i heard that. did the guy tell anything to Papa? why is it that you people who rise in entertainment and popularity get to being so full of yourself? why??? why do you begin to announce your end before the time is set??? why??? did your village send you on an errand???? mbgo Linda Ikeji???!!! kwarakwa onwe gi ughu!!! if you don't like a pastor and you don't understand him, shut up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
