Senate Leader Remanded In Prison Over Alleged Murder

Senator Folarin and his co-accused were driven off to prison in a caged Nigerian Prisons Services Toyota pickup van.
Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin has been remanded in Prison alongside three associates on a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder of a former Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Oyo State, Alhaji Lateef Salako (Eleweomo), who was shot last Thursday during a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) local government congress primaries at IDC Primary School, Ona Ara LGA, Oyo State.
Folarin who arrived the court premises at about 10.30 am will remain in prison for at least the next ten days.
Senator Folarin was arraigned this morning inside an Ibadan Magistrate Court by the Oyo State Police Command after his interrogation for several hours yesterday.

Chief Magistrate Sakirat Baderu ordered that the senator and co-accused be remanded in Agodi Prison after his lawyer, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN argued that the court lacked the jurisdiction to hear the matter.

the senate leader made several calls to the police commissioner about eleweomo`s presence with his thugs and they did nothing. eleweomo was killed in exchange of gun fire or stabbing. He was not killed in his house. He led thugs to war and he did in the war. please, release the senate leader jo o Ibadan politics is horrible.

Alao-Akala's plan is to get Folarin out of the way so he can continue to rule with impunity. I'm not a fan of either men, but this smacks of a cover up. He'll be detained while the primaries are going on and he won't have a chance to challenge for the governorship or to even make his way back to the Senate for another 4 years. I'm not saying Folarin is innocent but he was protecting himself when everyone knows that Alao-Akala wants him dead. Gutter politics to the core in the Wild Wild West. It just goes to show that PDP is full of thugs, killers etc!!

This is how to do it.A clear and loud message must be sent that no one is above the law,if we want to sanitize the Nigerian space.Every law-breaker must be brought to book.

Lol @ Ibadan politics... This is why the SW has always brought destruction to Nigeria.

In the 60s it was in the SW House of Assembly, Awo went to jail, Akintola got killed.

In 1979 and 83 it was Olunloyo, Ige and co. In 1999, 2003, 2007 all sorts of all sorts happened. Now in 2011, the saga continues.

I thought the death of Adedibu would bring an end to this dirty Ibadan politics. How wrong was I. This country needs a revolution to bring and end to this old men recycling themselves and their children.
