The first two phases of the training was conducted in April and August this year. However with the termination of the military training, the US government says it would still continue its extensive bilateral security relationship with Nigeria despite the termination.
The US and other countries became more involved in the security apparatus of Nigeria after the Chibok girls were abducted in April. Find the US press statement above...

Onli God can save this our country oooo!!!! God guide and keep us all

I hope they come up with a very good reason for this decision.

Like everything and every time, we cut corners. We drive cars with no proper knowledge of road signs, get licenses without attending driving courses, we become politicians without grassroots experience simply because we have godfathers, we become ministers without basic experience. Just before the ceasefire, it was agreed we had the upper hand to fight BH and some attributed it to the training offered by US and the time lines of April and August suggest same. The government had said the US government refused to sell us arms only for the State Department to say they indeed sold us arms but not a particular helicopter. The fact about them training our battalion and sale of arms came afore when the State dept countered our ambassador. See, we have an arms depot that i recall was functional even while OBJ was there as a civilian president with Marwa presiding. They made it a party affair and like most things, they have ran it aground and now we are crying like little kids. We are yet to gather actionable intelligence about BH, the government is yet to place a finger on what exactly BH wants hence why the supposed ceasefire was a dummy to us. We don't have a clear picture of what we are doing. Back in the days we go to Burma, Pakistan, India for training and even these countries rely on the US for training because they are the leaders in counter terrorism and they are always in other countries to regularly update knowledge on emerging terrorism trends. We have refused to learn anything and we should not expect a different result. Good day all.
The US should stop the propaganda about BH, they refuse to sale arms to fight BH but want to keep training our army personnel to use which arms. Haba make them leave us rest. Russia and China will help us. Why was there no press statement when they refuse to sale arms to us? Next story pls
This is saddening! There are some demonic forces at work here.

Why now....@ologunifemidolapo@yahoo.com

The US does not want to offer any help to Nigeria, they are just interested in milking us.

well, Nigerian's should govern themselves and learn how to handle their security issues.
However when one door closes another will open, our survival doesn't depend on the United States government, we're one big nation, we should come together and take care of our country.
new post on the blog. www.udokajane.blogspot.com
But why??????
And people still don't believe Jonathan is a Boko Haram sponsor?
What is really happening to our country Nigeria, how can our govt request the discontinuing of the training, what do they stand to achieve? May God help us in 2015 oh.
SPORADIC BOMBINGS EVERYDAY AND ALL THE PRESIDENT DOES IS TO CONDEMN,BLOGGERS BLOG.POLITICIANS TWEET PRAYERS,NIGERIANS THINK IT IS OK.WHY CAN'T YOU EMULATE THE ARAB SPRING?I THINK THE GOVERNMENT WILL DO SOMETHING IF THERE IS A NATIONWIDE PROTEST.MY PRAYERS AND HEART GO OUT TO ALL THE VICTIMS AND ALL THE FAMILIES THAT HAVE BEEN AFFECTED IN ONE WAY OR THE OTHER BY THIS BH.
Whoever advised GEJ to sign the anti gay bill into law is an opposition agent. This singular act has strained the relationship between Nigeria and the West especially USA and UK. I am sorry but GEJ is government is gone.
You we re not even ready to help and tell ourselves d truth.
The broad question is are we getting the decisions right?
I am a project manager and my ethics is that it's better you spend 9 years planning and 6 months to execute till finish than spend 6 months planning and 9 years to execute. Nigerians read my lips and say your mind
Maka y bikonu with all dis happening.... And y re dey not helping to combat dem instead of training.
Why now? Na wa
US sef una own too much.We don't even know where you are. During Ebola una do us strong thing
Let our military use the training they've received to counter this Bh guys
America has not been reassuring or forthcoming in her relationship with Nigeria. Obama has been to Africa a couple of times. If he did not come to Nigeria, tell me where did he go to? It is no skin off Nigeria's nose though. But then America won't sell military materials to us to combat Boko Haram because according to her, they are not sure of our soldiers human rights record! In such a war situation? In the mean time, BH runs riot on Nigeria. Oh but America will train Nigeria's soldiers, who will then combat BH with bare hands if they must? Double talk, double standards, double double. Exactly what is America still looking for in Nigeria?
i did not c any statement o.Goldensarah9@yahoo.com
Lindi, there is no major reason for the termination here, what went wrong???
It seems our leaders don 4k up again.
I BELIEVE THE GOVT HAS THEIR REASON BUT IF AM WRONG MAY GOD PUNISH THEM ALL. .......................................................QUEENMAYA......................................................... The us training or presence made little or no impact instead things are worst.
Na wa sef
Rubbish! Where is d help they promised 2 help fight BH? Has US Military killed BH b4? Nigerian we should seek d help of oda countries o let's fight our battle. #Brassman#
Bull crap from the US as they (US) terminated it on human rights grounds
They don't want to sell us surfisticated weapons, we terminate and move somewhere else. .
I smell something funny in this*****Duno if anybody is going same direction as I'm going...its high time we trust no one in this country***They can't just terminate the last phase...we need some explanations here*
Better this way, they should take their illuminati away.
Good, get rid of those spies
We are doomed,G.E.J which way.
It is unfortunate to hear this information because of the situation we find ourselves now, Nigeria needs the assistance of the USA urgently to tackle the issue of insurgent that it is facing. mjabdulk@gmail.com
nigeria my country.abigail_mabeh@yahoo.com
Why would nigeria wnt 2 terminate d on going training ha!!! Boko-haram re waxing stronger nd there they re nt doing enough 2 counter dis dreaded insurgents i de smell rat ooo
Y will they discontinue the training? What is wrong with our leaders? This is just sad
What is our government thinking? Boko Haram Victory abi? oga oooooo
Makes no difference whatsoever! Didnt see the effect of the first two phase training.
You cant help someone that's not ready??
Wow, what a sad, confused government
Whatever the reasons were ...
there is always a reason for everything.i wonder why the sudden stop
I don't know wat is wrong wit our govt cos dey just act like dey don't care abt d welfare of d citizens.
sammydags@yahoo.com
GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!!
Why would the Nigerian government ask them to discontinue the training? Infesting in our military at this point is the most crucial thing to do in the face of rising terrorism in our country. As far as i'm concerned, this is only an indication that our polity and leadership have misplaced priorities.
To Hell with U.S. they have their own selfish interest..they want to sell equipments for us, then why training our soldiers..wat we they fight wit after u train them? so Back Out ..US.nice MOVE FROM FG.........jeffrey_irabor@yahoo.com

I don't even understand this our government sometimes.

Who on earth want to train Boko haram or even worst ? Nigeria army is full of BoKo haram terrorists
I feel our govt is playing on us,wen dey ar close to finding solution to d's menace den its a shutdown. Blood thirsty evil leaders. 0f217edd LIB pin gal
Why is d nigerian government withdrawing d soldiers from training??? And why did d us refuse to sell higher grade weapons to nigeria. If they truly wanna help(don't give me that human rights crap
Just passing by
And you said this Government is making a better move for this country? Oh no! i condemn this Government, its the baddest of all Government.
why now?
I hope this turns out Good for nigerians
I say off with the spies!!
Nawa oo. Everything about Nigeria is becoming confusing. Why should the government withdraw the training progreamme? is it until Bokoharam takes over the country that they will wake up?
Shut up!what do you know?
I know that the Nigerian Government has never been sincere in their fight against boko haram.
And what was the reason for the termination? GEJ!!! Anyway the US trained the Iraqi forces to better hunt ISIS, look how that worked out.
Wow , good to be bck on LIB .. miss u LinDa ...
STILL { I DON'T MIND MA BUSINESS }
The US never wanted to help us, they are more interested in milking us.

Yours eyes don kwafuka. Go dip am inside snow
I like the decision Nig Gvt has taken over training our soldiers in US.US refused to sell arms to Nigeria to combat Bokoharam, but they want to train our soldiers because money is involved. The truth is; America does not like Nig. Nig gvt should seek help from other countries.
True talk....
which way nigeria?
US should go to HELL!....BH is Her conspiracy...that is how they brought down Libya,...They claimed they are helping yet refused to sell us weapon, what is the need of the training anyway?...if not that GEJ is dump...why do we have to rely on them anyway.
What about the $200m given to an army general to purchase arms bt was diverted for his governorship aspirations?US asked Gej to look into that but nothing was done till date.Us think say Using wan sell arms?
Nice Move ..The nigerian government are getting wiser by the day . God is Great ... Go US Trainers...Stealing Oil In the name of Training.
Belated but very necessary move. America's unspoken motives and the ambiguities surrounding her dealings with our country has been a source of worry for us patriots over time.
While our President may have lost the plot to undo Boko Haram sooner owing to his decision to play politics of appeasement even with very determined foes, it is however not late in the day to do what needs be done.
We can beat Boko Haram fair and square no question about that but before going after the snake on the perimeters of the hen house it is extremely necessary to clean out its inside so as to deny the reptile any further hiding place.
the hen house
I hope dis is for gud
But why?
Too bad for naija
I STRONGLY BELIEVE THIS IS ONE OF THE WISEST DECISION NIGERIAN GOVNMNT HAS TAKEN. AMERICA IS NO LONGER OUR FRIEND. I PERSONALLY SEE THEM AS SPIES TO BOKO HARAM. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE US DRUG WHEN EBOLA HITS, THE REFUSED TO SELL TO US BETTER AMMUNITION TO BATTLE BOKO,THEY CALL OUR OWN DRUGS PESTICIDE,BUT THEY WANT TO TRAIN US TO USE OUR BARE HANDS TO FIGHT. THEY NEVER TRAINED US WHEN OUR ARMY WAS THE BEST AFRICAN LAND FORCE.
She don take too much cum to d face. How would u av seen dat...
There are no demonic forces, my brother! It's obvious the government had hidden agendas... How else can we explain this: the attacked states are APC states, the elongated state of emergencies in those states, with the bombings & killings not reduced... only 2 things comes to mind: diversion & embezzling of money all in the name of providing security. 2, there will be no elections in those northern states, thereby making the president win on account of those states not regarded (the opposition state)
Then again, during the heat of the Chibok saga, the other countries that came to offer help, what became of them? They just left without saying anything... Obviously sent away just like they are now simply because there's an hidden agenda.
& just like Abacha said... when insurgency lasts more than 24hrs, then the government has a hand in it!
No other reason than the obvious! The government has hidden agendas... How else can we explain these: the attacked states are APC states, the elongated state of emergencies in those states, with the bombings & killings not reduced... They claim it's against western education & others claim it's religion, yet the kill the northerners (their fellow Muslims)...

I hope there's a/re reason/Reasons for the sudden stop in the ongoin MiIItary training
I like ur grassroot argument on politicians. that is what we are suffering. my other argument is national exposure. how many northern states has gej spent time in while growing up? it sounds silly but u can't care for people u don't know. that is y obj served well. and dat is d advantage d military have. they have been all over and understand Nigeria.
by the way, who is training the BH boys? It obviously has nothing to do with training. it is like Hussain Bolt requiring training to beat me. haba.
Exactly!!!!!!
I want to advise that in reporting any news, we must project it the right way.
To infer that the US terminated the training program is not correct; that statement is an open-ended statement that may lead to multiple interpretations to be drawn from it.
It was the Nigerian government who made the request for the termination.
