It is a sin to pass judgement unto other people, you are not God so all you people saying that they are going to hell are sinning upon the Lord and as Jesus said who has not sin thro the first stone. it pisses me off to see how backwards this country are and you women saying potential husband have you not realised they are potential husbands to men not to women go find your own husbands

straight guy

I don't see the reason why people should treat gay people as if they are not human. I believe people should do what they enjoy doing. You can't live your life and live another mans life for him.

The groom is sort of right in the sense that homosexuality cuts across all continents, countries and races. It is, therefore rather amusing when people act as if it is the creation of the white man. However, most cultures and religions strongly abhor homosexuality as it deviates from the norm. I think we all need to realise that homosexuality will become more open and pervasive in the coming years. The Bible says the last days shall be like the days of Noah and Lot, and what was one of the hallmarks of Lot's Sodom & Gomorrah? - open and acceptable homosexuality. I recently watched a programme 'Taboo' on DSTV and there was a German woman who is now living as a handsome, drop-dead gorgeous man! Most women would fall for 'his' good looks. Who knows, some of the guys we see around are actually like this former woman; 'he' has a functioning penis and all. So, the world is getting weirder daily and each person will have to learn how to deal with the changes based on their own world view and faith. May God have mercy on us all.

Hi, Jayke here again, in case any of you missed my earlier intro, I am a young Nigerian male. I am gay and loving myself more and more everyday inspite of and despite the poison you hypocritical bigots pour out every second. I must commend you Linda for using your blog to stir up discussions on this issue. Please continue to publish more about happenings in the gay community, no matter what anyone says. A lot of people have been misled and prejudiced into seeing gay people as monsters or the worst form of evil. Please wake up Nigeria! You can wish gay people away, they have always been with you and will continue to be with you, you need to let go of the hatred and bitterness within you and embrace other humans however different they may be, at the risk of sounding like a broken tape; gay people are some of the most talented, intelligent, loyal and compassionate persons you can ever come across. Contrary to what the bigots would have you believe, we dont want you (straight guys)!! Open your eyes and see: many of your sons, brothers, uncles, fathers etc are gay - believe it or not! You probably will never find out cos they keep it hidden deep in the closet, but trust me, i've come across/been chyked by many 'happily married' or 'engaged' men, hypocrisy and hatred will not get us anywhere. our nation needs jobs, schools, roads etc, there are huge and urgent tasks to which we should direct our energy, please direct your energy to more worthwhile causes
as usual, your curses and insults shall only be as effective as trying to soak a rock in water,
cheers ...

Linda, thank you for posting gay topics. At least you keep the issue alive. We know that in some old African Kingdoms - Chaka the Zulu's and in Uganda - the British found homosexuality being practised. Far from importing it into Africa, the British were the ones who stamped it out. To be gay is human, it's natural, it's been with us throughout history in all cultures and will be here when the last trumpet sounds. Let us face our real problems of public stealing, corruption, incompetence. I almost pity those who think love can only exist between opposite genders. Gay love can be blissful, elevating...Gay loving is magic. Gays are special, usually more advanced minds than ordinary straight people. The gay pedigree is immortal, from ancient philosophers to the greatest genius of all, Leonardo da Vinci and people like Tchaikovsky and Walt Whitman. Gay is more than just good. It is glorious. Fantastic.

THIS IS MADNESS, THIS IS THIS, THIS IS THAT. C'MON MAKE ALL OF UNA SHUT UP! AT ONE TIME IN HISTORY, THE IDEA OF WOMEN BEING FREE OR BLACKS BEING FREE WAS UNTHINKABLE, CHANGE IS ALWAYS UNTHINKABLE BUT IT WILL HAPPEN BY FIRE BY FORCE. LISTEN AFRICA HAVE THE HIGHEST RATE OF HIV IN THE WORLD. WE SEE OUR BOYS ACTING GIRLISH AND WE SAY THEY ARE JUST SHY. NO THEY ARE SO MANY GAY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD INCLUDING AFRICA. IF THEY ARE FORCED TO HIDE THEN THEY WILL HAVE SEX WITH BOYS IN SECRET AND HAVE SEX WITH WOMEN THEREFORE INCREASING THE TRANSMISSION OF HIV. LET THEM BE FREE AND THEY SHALL BE EDUCATED ON HOW TO BEST PROTECT THEMSELVES.
