speaking today under the invitation of Africa Film Trinidad & Tobago
and the Philosophical Society of Trinidad & Tobago in Port of
Spain.

Chester Bennington bought a $2.5m home a month before he committed suicide
The Linkin Park frontman bought the Palos Verdes Estates house for $2.5 million back in June. The 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom house is in an affluent part of L.A. County famous for pristine neighborhoods and an excellent public school system.
Everything about the 3,956 square foot pad says family home -- special nook perfect for game night, 3 outdoor decks, an expansive backyard with a spa and swimming pool.
The purchase falls in line with what Chester's LP bandmates said -- that he'd spoken excitedly about future plans. Buying the perfect place for his family, but then taking his life there a month later just doesn't add up.
The Benningtons closed on the house 8 days after Chris Cornell's suicide ... leading some close friends to believe Chester's suicide decision was sudden and fueled by his grief.
His death investigation has also turned up no obvious signs of drug use ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us investigators found no illegal drugs or prescription drugs while searching the home following Chester's suicide. As we reported ... there was a partially drunk bottle of alcohol in the bedroom where he was found hanging.
The Linkin Park frontman was open about his drug abuse issues -- acid, meth, crack and more. His bandmates were well aware of his demons, and he credited his bandmates for staging an intervention.
It's unclear if Chester had any drugs in his system at the time of death.Toxicology results are pending.

Aww, Senator John McCain gets standing ovation from colleagues after brain cancer diagnosis
McCain flew into D.C. Tuesday just to vote on the controversial health bill - that would start the process of repealing Obamacare - which ended up passing with the help of his vote -- following his brain cancer diagnosis last week. As we reported ... he had a blood clot removed that tested positive for glioblastoma, and was resting from the procedure.
McCain put the vote for the bill at 50-50, meaning Vice President Mike Pence had to issue the tie-breaking vote ... and he pushed to move it forward.
Politics as usual on the Hill ... but everyone seems unanimous here in honoring McCain.
3 young women arraigned for allegedly raping a pastor, say they only wanted him to see he was not special and immune to sexual arousal
Three young women were arrested and arraigned before
Western Commonage magistrate Mr Lungile Ncube this week after they
allegedly raped a pastor at a local church in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
The suspects, Sandra Ncube,21, Riamuhetsi Mlauzi, 23 and
Mongiwe Mpofu, 25 who reside at the same house in Cowdray Park suburb,
were charged with aggravated indecent assault. They were remanded in
custody to August 7 for continuation of trial.
Prosecuting, Mr Petros Shoko said the complainant had gone
to the women’s residence to demand money from Mlauzi sometime last week.
“On July 14, 2017, at around 7PM,
the complainant went to the three accused persons’ residence to collect
his money from Riamuhetsi Mlauzi, which she owed him,” said the
prosecutor.
The court heard that the complainant was ushered into the
house before Ncube held him by the waist and fondled his private parts.
“They forced him to lie on the bed and undressed him. Ncube
sat on his chest and he tried to push her away. However, Mlauzi, who
was in the same room, held his legs together and sat on top, pressing
him against the bed,” said Mr Shoko.
Mpofu, who was in another room, allegedly brought condoms
and placed one on the complainant’s manhood. She then allegedly assisted
to hold the complainant down as he was resisting.
“Ncube had sexual intercourse with the complainant once, without his consent,” said Mr Shoko.
During trial, the trio denied “raping” the complainant but admitted indecently assaulting him.
“We were just playing around Your Worship. I did not think that he would take it seriously,” said Ncube.
Mpofu distanced herself from the incident and said she had only been called to bring condoms.
“I was not part of it. They just called me to bring
condoms. We keep condoms around the house and there were some in my
room, so I just brought them,” said Mpofu.
Mlauzi said she wanted to “fix” the pastor, whom she accused of having a tendency of walking in on her when she was bathing.
"He always walks in on me bathing and claims to be unmoved
as a man of God. I just wanted to see if he was going to be aroused or
not. I did not plan to execute the whole rape thing, Your Worship.”
Magistrate Ncube asked Mlauzi what she aimed to benefit
from the attack, and she said she just wanted to prove to the pastor
that he had feelings like everybody else.
“I wanted him to see that he was not special and was not
immune to sexual arousal. When I touched him, he immediately got
aroused. And that is all we wanted to see,” she said.
The matter was reported at Cowdray Park Police Station and
the complainant was referred to Mpilo Central Hospital for a medical
examination. A medical report was produced in court as evidence.

The woman suing Usher now wants $20m, says she tested positive for STD
The woman, in new legal docs filed as Jane Doe, says she was devastated when she got the results Saturday. The woman said she'd gone to get tested immediately after hearing reports Usher admitted in docs he has herpes simplex 2.
TMZ broke the story ... she sued Usher for $10 million after she says they had unprotected sex earlier this year. She now wants at least $20 million for emotional harm, medical bills and punitive damages.
