It is extremely sad that this man has passed away! He, more than most other Nigerian politician paid a very high price for his time in office. The possibility of extradition as stated in the news media and canvassed by Prof. Sagay, would have been too much for him and led directly or indirectly to his death. I followed his trial in London those days and it must have been a most terrible experience not to talk of his experience here on his return to Nigeria when OBJ made sure that the law took its course. He kept a very low profile all through the years after his release from prison here. He lost his father recently and then his son in Dubai now he is gone. With his departure comes a very big gap in the political leadership of the Ijaw people, he was undoubtedly and unquestionably, the very best of the lot from the Ijaw Nation. He is a terrible loss to the Ijaw nation and Niger-Delta, that is if they would have enough sense to appreciate the loss rather than sell themselves out cheaply. Adieu uncle Alams, the governor-general of the Niger-Delta.

I suppose there were sides to o Alameseigha that were good. The danger in today's Nigeria is the danger of a single narrative. The danger of demonizing a person and deifying another. Of all the corrupt thieves in Nigeria he suffered the most. I hope his suffering led him to repentance. After all Obasanjo, IBB, Buhari, Danjuma, Anenih, Peter Odili, Amaechi, Fashola, Nyarko, and many more have stolen much more yet seem to be free. But God's judgement will catch up with them all so. I hope Alameseigha repented of his sins and I pray he has made it into heaven.

Alams may be corrupt as all our politicians are, one thing that those close to him keep saying is that the man was a good man. Whatever that means is left for posterity to judge. He certainly can't be as bad as people are painting him to be. rip

Death is a sad thing, in as much as I sympathise with his family (if the story is true) , my heart felt sympathy goes out much more for millions of poor Nigerians who lost their loved ones needlessly due to the impact of the systemic rot looters inflicted on Nigeria.
Politicians like Doyin Okupe often quote scriptures to embellish or cover their lies. He can even praise Usama bin laden using scriptures.

Tribute to Nigerians. I mourn all Nigerians that died bcos they could not get good health care, that died in car crash bcos of bad roads, that died bcos of bad infrastructure I.e street lights, that died bcos security institutions don't work properly, I.e police that died in bomb explosions. That died in active service bcos they were ill equipped, that died on pension queues, that died bcos of being a chibok parent, that died and are still dying daily from poverty, deprivation, frustrations e.t.c rest in peace to the dead. And also the Chibok girls, you have been through a lot and only God will heal you all. We miss you all and pray that someday Nigeria will experience total change.

Who are you to judge. A muslim for that matter not even a Philistine or Pharisee. No body knows who will make it. Even those who have been thought to be the greatest saints and angels might end up in hell to the shock of the world. Only the Almighty knows. Even Barabas the thief made heaven

Stop talkung absolute crap this stupid man. Go and tell the Almighty himself to send him to hell Mr judge. We know where people with your type of heart go to.

I BET THIS MAN WOULD HAVE DIED OVER SEA IF NOT FOR FEAR OF ARREST...
Cecilia Ibru was sick, Dieziani is sick even Akingbola was sick and now Alams is dead.
Even the Abacha`s still come out in public to say trash, it is because of people like this idiots that we have Nigerians crossing the Mediterranean sea with civilians of other country ravage by war. Phrase like "a letter from an African prince" drugs and prostitution are now substitutes name for the country.

Ignorant fools.. you people must think Nigerians are sets of loosers.Death... these set of people have brought deaths to millions, look at the economy, what are Nigerians doing in places like Russia, Malaysia etc .while am incline to wish them peace , they should have peace in death if they are actually free of all these charges... but if not thier Friends, Family and Girl Friends should be made to continue thier suffering here on earth. i also think his dead body should be sent over to the Uk for him to free his name.

irabo bobby fera favor, I think it is you that should shut up. Leave us Bayelsans to mourn in peace.
People who are not from Bayelsa are opeing their mouths to talk and abuse Alams. How can you speak for people without their permission. You want to know what Alams did for us abi? Read the below.

Obasanjo is still walking free and chooking mouth in national matters. Some of the people whom Alams "stole their money" idolise Obasanjo.

For naija, na the person wen dem catch be tiff.

The Bayelsans on the other hand are in deep mourning. It is not for nothing that DSP is the Governor General of the Ijaw Nation.

Hear one of them, the owners of the dead body and the actual owners of the money Alams stole:

Below is a narrative from a friend - Markdon on DSP's legacies. ...
"In 2000, Yenogoa was just a street with stilt houses on sticks in swamps on either sides of the street with only 2 rat infested motels. Alams turned Yenogoa into a bustling, vibrant, beautiful city; He sand filled the entire city and laid out magnificent dual carriage ways, beautifully tarred.
He established a university, Niger Delta University in which I played a very important role. My association in the UK trained over 100 of its lecturers. We started Niger Delta University from two offices in swamp ridden Yenogoa - with my friend John Buseri, the first Vice Chancellor, holed up in one cramped little office. We used to take river boat to Amasoma to develop the present site of the university before Alams built the beautiful bridge to Amasoma. Today Niger Delta University is one of the more beautifully laid out Universities in Nigeria.
Alams also built the polytechnic, college of education, college of nursing and modern hotels. He laid out the comprehensive network of well tarred streets over the previous swamps of Yenogoa and built bridges connecting numerous islands in the creeks. Alams built schools throughout Ijaw land and health centres and modern River Boat services across the creeks to connect the islands with modern launches. When we first went to Amasoma it was a canoe with outboard engine. The last time I did before the building of the bridge it was in relative luxury in one of the modern launches.
Nationally, he assisted to bring peace to the Niger Delta by negotiating with the militants to bring about Amnesty. For this alone we need to commend him".

For the rest of you hypocritical sympathizers crying louder than the bereaved, no vex. No be una money Amaechi tiff, na my money. Canonize him.

He did develop his state. All politicians chop but most chop without doing anything for their state. His state was a village with houses on stilts when he came, by the time he left, they had roads, bridges, a university being developed.... lots of things being developed.
How many of you can hold your hands up to say your governor did half of that? Abeg, all of you, leave us alone, we loved him and we mourn his passing away. Your governors have done worse to you and you cannot talk to them, instead you are coming to bash a dead man. If you wish him to go to hell, don't be surprised if you get your wish and you also meet him there!!!!
