Ex-bank chief Jim Ovia sets up mega school in Agbor, Delta State
Ex-Zenith bank MD, billionaire business man Jim Ovia has set
up a massive school in his hometown of Agbor in Delta State. The school is called James Hope College (JHC) and has a Briton as the principal. Mr Ovia built the school, which is supported by a substantial endowment fund, in his hometown to make education affordable to his people. The academic session for the first set of students will start in September 2013.
Yes it will be affordable...nd some students will be taken in for free off course after running checks and also the and it will be up to standard...also running the British Curriculum
God bless you Mr Ovia for all you have been doing for your people. If every rich man do same in no time Nigeria will be a better place. May God protect you and give you long life.
Why the distracting lips now. Na fuchsia lipstick you collect from madam ni. Na wa o. Naija and some clueless makeup artists. Anyways, congrats on d laudable project.
Their school fees is not always affordable.very outrageous!I wonder if the subjects they teach in all these elites schools is different from what the ewutuntun grammar school teaches that makes their fees high as sky?
Sassy girl is right.these elites dont do anything for free of charge.they want something in return. And when they get it they will recoup their expenses.
If he decides to run for political office he will win in a clean and fair election coa he has blessed his people tremendously. He single handed supplied portable water to his town, built a computer training schl for free education, now a college which am sure will be affordable for even a farmers child, this is to mention a few,I didn't mention d numerous scholarships or jobs given to people with good grades from Ika. Am not an indigene but I grew up there seeing his good works. Let the so called rich men emulate him and nigeria will be a better place for d poor.
He not aspiring for any governourship,he is a gud man wit a gud heart and always like to help d poor ones like us,May d Almighty God Jehovah continue to bless him.I wish oda rich men can emulate him.
Affordable my foot. I'm sure the tuition fee alone will be more than 100k per term, and you will call that affordable. Another business venture for the man. Carry go, na your money rake in more.
Well is a good thing for the rich to give to the poor out of the surplus. This was how ex MD of gtbank plc also initiated a college in abeokuta and it was also meant for the underprivileged but all of a sudden reverse is the case. Oga Jim is a good idea and initiative but I believe it will not dash the hope of the poor people. Remain blessed.
This is no doubt a nice gesture from Jim. I have only one appeal to make: let Jim give the brilliant indigent students of that state scholarship in the new school.
Its a nice development,d best gift u can give to ur people is education.i know dat d price will be affordable. For those criticising and saying whether it will be affordable or free, let me tell u dia is no free lunch even in a free land.We should be thinking on d ways to improve and develop our society in our different capercity. Therefore lets appreciat good things so dat it can equally come to us.ONE LOVE MY PEOPLE

Good, but why John Hope College? Why not Jim Ovia College? Who is John Hope? Is that his father's name? We continue to "worship" these white men because of what?
Please tell ur gmd emefiele to stop employing graduates as contract staff, and be paying them 69,999. Per month when there mates are earning times three in d same industry. No medicals!!!
Great achievement, giving back to your community and society at large. This is to prove to your people that you are able to be where you are today because you are educated. But make sure you the school is free like Rochas foundation in IMO STATE.
I am from Agbor and I know people who went through college and University based on his scholarship scheme. Interest or no intrest, believe me this man has a large heart. Well done Jim!
