Mogul of manufacturing, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has gotten his confirmation as Nigeria's wealthiest man as he debuted at number 334 on Forbes Richest list last week. Ranked with a net worth of $3.3 billion, the 51 year old Kano born industralist with his hands in cement, flour, sugar, salt, spaghetti, oil, property etc made his first debut.

So he finally made his first debut on the Forbes list, but there are those who think Dangote was underestimated. According to Forbes, Dangote's source of wealth was described as 'inherited and growing' and their ranking method only deals with publicly quoted companies. Dangote's many companies were not included. Those who know maintain that Dangote is worth at least $16billion. That is Obajana Cement Factory alone is worth over $9billion.
Hmmmm....what do you think?

Aliko Dangote: Sheer hardwork, determination & doggedness does go a long way. He makes me proud to be called a Nigerian.

Jeans for Genes sickle cell project: Great idea. I hope UK. Anunobi-Ekwu is involved in the project.

Kingsley Ogoro: I am very proud of him as he dosen't do things in small measures, u know what i mean.

Chinenye Ochumba: She makes me proudly say that, "yes, i am originally from Ogidi in Idenmili Local Government Area of Anambra State."

Hip Hop World Awards 2008: I am wishing a mighty "good luck" to all the nominees, muah.

Mariam & Charles Anazodo: Twins are just good luck, karma.

Ben Bruce: He is always soaring to greater heights aside from the baby mamas, (no pun intended).

2Face: He did not really change location, he is still in Festac Town. I was thinking that, maybe he should have moved to Ikoyi or into GRA Ikeja, you know - where the "old money" lives/resides.

Ade Bendel: Praise God!

Our down-to-earth D'banj: Kokomaster, i hail o. Kokolets, pls, take note.

Vagina Monologues resumes: Great cast - I wish them luck!

Funmi Iyanda & Madeline Albright: Great minds think alike. Like beget like.

UBA/AMAA 2008: UBA; has never failed to deliver. Mrs Peace-Anyiam Fiberesima is just too much, i like her in regards to how she has a vision for AMAA and she is running with it.

Ndidi Azubike: Fine shape/great figure.

Yeah Forbes assessed Dangote on the worth of his stake Dangote Sugar and Dangote Flour which are public companies. His money was inherited because of his Dantata connection ....

I dont know how much he is worth sha but he is ONE HELL of a HUMBLE guy.... Can you imagine he was set next to me in an economic seat on a flight to London in 2005.

Abeg what is the craze with 35mm Camera? It's annoying when I see all these Artist go to SA to shoot a video because of 35mm.

Nigerians and their inferiority complex. The movies are still not comparable to the creativity of Indian movies (let's not even talk American here). If you're shooting on 35mm, and your story line is wack, your directing is wack, it's still gon be an expensive wack 35mm movie. You'll tell me if it's 35mm I'm looking for when I want to watch a movie. If someone like Tade Ogidan is getting 35mm, I'll say okay good.

@tolani and anon, na wa for una. Kudos to Kingsley Ogoro jare, its his money, its his business. If he feels that buying a 35mm camera is what he needs to take his business forward who are you to say he shouldn't. na our money? The man dey try abeg as do so many others. Are our engineers building any bridges or our scientists inventing anything? They are telling stories that they presume the market likes, If you don't like them, simply dnt watch them. As for Indian films being better, thats a matter of prerogative, I hate Indian films, they are to me like reading M and B's.I would stick to Nigerian films anyday. We too dey beef our own.

Congratulations to Marian. May God bless her and her entire family.

RE: Kingsley Ogoro...

i don't understand it... what is a 35mm camera supposed to do to help him?

35mm doesn't automatically bestow quality upon a film--as someone already mentioned, if the craft is not there to begin with, 35mm is not going to magically make it appear there.

what's more, it's really nothing to buy a 35mm camera: the issue is how much a reel of 35mm FILM costs... and also where you are going to edit and process it (i hope Mr. Ogoro bought a whole studio and not just the camera!)

i'm not hating on Mr. Ogoro, of course... i just don't understand this whole obsession with 35mm in Nollywood when the issue is not the format used but HOW you use it.

Dey don come again o! So what happens to the people that fell victim of his scam? Some people died from the shock when they realised that they've lost a lot of money. It's good to reabilitate ex-convicts but this really takes the biscuit. "PASTOR" hmm. this is a sly way of legitimising 419. The musicians and other stars need to be careful.

Cunnie... What does Tribal have to do with it? Would it have made you feel better, if I said my name is Ngozi. My dad is Ibo, my mom is yoruba. I don't get why everything got to be about Ibo/ Yoruba. That comment right there just shows how ignorant people can be about life. We're trying to make Naija one, we don't need people like you separating us.

The fact that Naija movies need to step up in their Artistic ability has nothing to do with being tribal. The music industry is on fire in Naija. I"ll love the movies to step up too. buying a 35mm camera just does not make anysense. is like buying an expensive pencil for a child that is getting a F okay i'll give them D in school. it won't make them get an A.. They need to go to source of the problem.
~my 2 cents.

Tola, read your first comment again and see how you spoilt it all by refering to Tade Ogidan(good producer,no doubt)as been the person that will buy a 35mm camera and you will appreciate but not Kingsley Ogoro. That's why i say you are VERY tribal. If the 35mm camera is not ok to be bought then it should apply to all producers and not singling out any one of them.I wonder why you feel the 35mm camera will be better if owned by Tade Ogidan and wack if its Kingsley Ogoro(see why i said you are tribal).Talking about ignorance and those people we do not need to divide us,Tolani, have a word with yourself,i think you are the one.Lastly, your Dad might be Ibo and Mum Yoruba,i don't care, but your comments betrayed you were you owe allegiance to more.
