South African woman executed in China today for drug smuggling

37year old Janice Bronwyn Linden from South African, was this morning executed in China for drug smuggling. Janice was arrested at the Baiyun International Airport, in China in November 2008 for smuggling three kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

Linden was said to have maintained her innocence despite the Chinese court giving her a two year reprieve in which to admit her responsibility. If she had done so, she would have served life imprisonment instead of being executed.

“But, the fact that she chose not to go that route, makes one wonder whether she was really guilty or not. When one faces the possibility of death, one will say and do anything. Janice, it seemed was not prepared to go down without a fight. This case needs to be fully investigated.”A friend of the family told reporters.

Two of her sisters were allowed an hour with her this morning before she was put to death by lethal injection. RIP Janice.

Game publisher Activision Blizzard, announced today Monday Dec 12th that Modern Warfare 3, the latest entry in their blockbuster shooter series, Call of Duty, topped $1 billion in worldwide sales just a record 16 days after its release on November 8th, beating the previous record holder, James Cameron's 2009 3D film 'Avatar', which took 17 days to reach the mark.

400L Lasu Student, Chinyere Ezeala, Found Dead in Lover's House in Ejigbo

A final year student of the Lagos State University, Ojo, Chinyere Ezeala, 27, has been found dead in her lover’s room at Ejigbo, Lagos, southwest Nigeria after a marathon sex.

The police at Ejigbo alleged that the 400-Level student was found dead on Friday on her lover’s bed at 36, Fayemi Street, Ejigbo, Lagos. She was found wearing a wrapper.

Her boyfriend, Ifeanyi Sunday, who works at the Apapa wharf allegedly reported her death to the police the following morning and was arrested.

Yesterday Dec 11th was exactly 45 years Anthony Cardinal Olubunmi Okojie was ordained as a priest. He became an Arch-Bishop in 1973 and a cardinal in 2003. The 75year-old Arch-Bishop of Lagos State is getting ready to retire as he is said to have sent his retirement notice letter to the pope.

Nadia Buari denies dating D'Banj

Islamic cleric names forbidden list of foods for women to touch

In a story reported on Egyptian news website, Bikya Masr, an unnamed Islamic cleric living in Europe was quoted saying that women should not get close to bananas, carrots, cucumbers, courgettes, in order to avoid any 'sexual thoughts'. The cleric said that these fruits and vegetables 'resemble the male penis' and could arouse women or 'make them think of sex,'

The sheikh said that if women wish to eat these food items, a third party, preferably a male relative, should cut the items into small pieces and serve.
