Dr. Kachikwu said all the stakeholders resolved that solutions to the incessant attacks on oil and gas pipelines are within the communities, stressing that communities were now saddled with the responsibility of ensuring protection of pipelines within their domain. He added that all the states in the region would nominate 4 or 5 representatives that would work hand-in-hand with security agencies to secure oil facilities in their respective states.
The Minister further stated that it was resolved that violence was not an option in resolving the problems of the Niger Delta and that all threats from the region should end henceforth. He stated that there was need to reach out to all other stakeholders who were not part of the meeting to embrace peace and dialogue. According to him, there was the need to restructure the Amnesty Programme so as to address the critical issue of neglect by the government and international oil companies.
“The Niger Delta Governors must be involved in providing lasting solutions to the resurgence of pipeline vandalism and there is urgent need to create business opportunities for the locals in the region,” Dr. Kachikwu stated.Gov. Adams Oshiomole and other leaders of the Niger Delta region who spoke at the meeting urged the agitators to drop their arms and embrace dialogue as the Federal government was committed to the development of the area. All the stakeholders who spoke at the meeting reassured that they would take the message of peace back home in order to provide a win-win situation for the Federal Government and the Niger Delta region.
The meeting was attended by high level government functionaries such as the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomole; National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj. General Mohammed Babagana Monguno(Retd.); Minister for Niger Delta, Usani Uguru; Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heneiken Lokpobiri , Coordinator Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh (Retd.); and stakeholders from Edo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Delta and Ondo States.

Buhari must learn to speak like a Leader..his misguided utterances is causing dischord between South-South, Southeast and his 'northern administration'.
I hope they are sincere with their intentions and not the usual play to the gallery. Why only Oshiomole attended the meeting ?

IGBOS AND THEIR SS BROTHERS ARE SAD BECAUSE NIGERIA IS HOLDING THEM BACK!
Nigeria is the dangerous demonic dam that is impeding the Igbos and keeping them from fulfilling their divine mandate of helping to transform all of Africa from the third world to the first.
If given a chance the Igbo would have left the Nigerian Federation in 1966. It was the rest of Nigeria who insisted that Igbo land must remain a part of Nigeria.
Igbos are by far the largest economic drivers in Nigeria. They are by far the most productive group in the country. Look all around you Igbos are the owners of all the purely indigenous industries. Talk about the Innosons that manufacture cars in Nigeria to the Chicasons to the Ibetos etc the list is endless. From a position of deficit Igbos now own a huge proportion of all the land in Abuja and of all the Land in Lagos.
For example, in Lagos as at 2013 the Igbos owned 58 percent of all landed property and controlled a whopping 60 percent of all SMEs in the state. (New Towns Development Department of the Lagos State Government, 2013)
In Federal examinations into institutions Igbos always rank the highest. Please look up the cut off point for all the States of the Federation. Anambra State and Imo State therefore have the highest cut off points. Yet in spite of that the Igbo States produce the highest number of entries into schools like Kings and Queens College.
A recent study by Professor Tapman an IQ specialist in the US who is reputed as be a world leader in IQ estimation has shown that Igbos have the highest IQs in Africa. According to Professor Tapman, Igbo IQs in general rival those of the Western Europeans unlike most other African nationalities.
In USA Igbo immigrants are also ranked not only as the most successful Nigerians, but the most successful immigrant black community. They have through co-operative means been very successful in sending their children to the best schools. Most Nigerians in the Ivy League schools are Igbos. The New England Council on higher education did a study in USA in 2012 that showed that Igbo Ivy League students are 38 percent of the entire minority population in Ivy League institutions. 38 percent and this includes other groups like the Koreans Chinese etc.
In Britain Chuka Umunna, Helen Grant, Chi Onwurah and Kate Osamor are the only 4 Nigerian MPs. ALL four are Igbos; two are from Anambra State and one could become the leader of the Labour party. Meanwhile Yorubas are historically more entrenched in the UK society.
There are only two Nigerian Queen's Counsel (QC) in the UK; both of them are Igbos. Meanwhile generations of Yoruba lawyers were called to the bar in the UK before the Igbos. On the other side of the law there are over 1,280 Yorubas in British jails today, some for the most heinous of crimes.
I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that I and my assistants have done an extensive study of Nigerian/African achievements and achievers. The Igbos are incomparable.
To use mythological language, the Igbos are like Jews, they are a SEMITIC LIGHT IN THE HAMITIC DARKNESS OF THE THIRD WORLD. They make a success of everything.
In summation according to Akin Osuntokun in his recent Thisday column 'the Igbos are the Germans of Africa and if left alone would make a resounding success of a nation'. So let us stop all this insult of a people who are by far the biggest investors in project Nigeria. We must search our conscience when we put up postings. Most other ethnic nationalities dislike Igbos because they cannot perform like them.
Of the 3 original regions of Nigeria, the Western Region is held back by laziness and pernicious tradition; the Northern Region is held back by fatalism and destructive Religion; the long-suffering Eastern Region is held back mainly by Nigeria itself. Were it not for the enforced union in this failed nation, Biafra would have by now been the toast of the whole earth.
Who cares leave them let them go back and keep killing themselves , when their brother was in power he only inrich some few set of people, the foolish fat one went to invest his own out of the country because he knows they can never have pace on that side,
Alright
Empower them well enough

FROM NIGER DELTA MILITANTS
By: ASARI DOKUBO.
.
Buhari you are a proud Fulani man, but you have failed to understand that the typical Niger Deltan man is a PROUD man also. And we are not cowards; you can not STOP the amnesty given to repentant Niger Delta militants by your predecessors and START an amnesty programme for your Fulani terrorists (Bokoharam) with the money from our crude oil. GOD FORBID BAD THING.
.
You can not set aside one billion naira from our OIL money on grazing reserves for your Fulani herdsmen and remove the host communities funds from the PIB and expect us to clap for you. NO WAY!
.
Go and start exporting cows and get money to fund the Grazing Reserves. VERY SIMPLE! You can not be LOUDLY threatening the Niger Delta avengers and QUIETLY negotiating with Fulani herdsmen and Bokoharam members. NO WAY BUHARI; it should be the other way round, and pretty soon the actions of these men will bring you to your knees on the negotiation table.
.
You want to cripple the Niger Delta Development commission; and start funding the North East development commission with our oil money. Are we the ones that destroyed the north east? BUHARI IT WON'T WORK.
.
Since you say it is the political reality that the 5% ers can not get justice; the avengers will give you the economic reality of that statement pretty soon
Pls add more frustration to
dis useless Gov.
