Photos: Check out this very unsafe pedestrian bridge in Lagos
Any horrible person can shove another person into that water. Imagine! This is the famous Coconut bridge before Tincan Island First Gate in Apapa, Lagos. Can the government at least put iron bars? See more pics after the cut...
Linda, d poor state of dat bridge has b lik dis since God knows when and if govt r not push to do sth abt dis it wil remain lik dis forever. Wht a shame!
There were iron bars here and it's been fixed a few times but when vandals continue to damage, steal and resell, when people continue to buy from black markets then we the people will continue to suffer.
The government peoples children will not stroll by there. They are after all chauffeur driven.
So until the masses take responsibility for their collective resources, the masses, masses will continue to suffer.
Smh... @ Linda, this is jx one out of many dead-trap called pedestrian bridge in lagos. The last time I used fadeyi pedestrian bridge, my heart was right in my mouth that I had to watch my step carefully like a baby jx learning how to walk. Thank God I made it. i'll neva use it again.
THE PEOPLE IN THE AREA STOLE THE PROTECTIVE BARRIERS. YOU CAN SEE NON OF THEM SEE IT AS DANGEROUS. IF THE GOVERNMENT PUT NEW BARRIERS, WILL IT SIT DOWN AND BE WATCHING IT. PEOPLE NEED TO CHANGE. WE ALL NEED TO BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR THE BAD ONES AND STOP PROTECTING OR PRETENDING WE DONT SEE THEM. PSALM 50.
I imagine the positive effect on the users of that bridge if your last sentence had said "can a good spirited Nigerian pay for the installation of iron bars on that bridge?". You could even consider using part of your Monday give-aways to take care of societal anomalies such as these. For sure it is the government's responsibility and perhaps your spotlight could make them fix it.. But I bet it could save a life today or tomorrow if someone fixes it right away before waiting for our "government". Well done..
Yea I go tru this pedestria everyday. The risk is too much.am happy u posted it.I personally took that pics and sent to u Linda. The bridge is horrible
I walk that bridge like every day of my life and I try as much as possible not to get close to anyone, looking back at every second and making sure I don't look down that bridge
Na some yeye elements remove the protective iron bars just for a few bottles of shekpe. Government keeps getting all the blame when idiots both in power & without take the selfish route.
People should stop using it. This is bad. Even without being pushed, someone can fall there mistakenly. I pray government do something fast about it. well done Linda for bringing this in the know.
Our people are bad. Government did put iron bar and they were removed (possibly for money making). The same thing happened in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja (Close to Ibro Hotel). They removed the Aluminium bar used to protect people. We should learn how to be responsible citizens.
Ohanaeze boys don remove the previous iron bars. How Government dey sure say dem no go remove new ones as dem remove all the ones wey dey all roads and major highways?
