So, last night, New York's Empire State Building flashed digital light projections of world's endangered species including those of Cecil The Lion whose death sparked international outrage.
Louie Psihoyos, director of the Oscar- winning film exploring dolphin hunting in Japan, The Cove, who came up with the idea said,
"There's only 3,500 wild male lions out there. The gun lobby keeps them from being on the list but they are endangered," Psihoyos told NBC. See the photos after the cut...

Linda I live in America and I have noticed that the country has so many activist. To be fair on them, there are people that are protesting for black lives all over the United states. Truth is, they have a way of maintaining animal conservation which in turn bring balance and job creation. In the state of Maryland where I live, as a registered hunter we are given notice to hunt down deer/antelopes to curtail over population.however; you can't indiscriminately hunt down animals cuz they are there for a reason. Look at Kruger national park in SA and game reserve in Kenya, they are doing a great job on conservation and hence it boost their economy through tourism. Naija should emulate these practices in Yankari game reserve and more. Linda all I am saying is that it might seem really absurd that people are outraged by this incident but I think it is valid knowing what is really behind the outrage.

Every animal in the ecosystem is inter connected and if a certain species goes extinct.., the results can be quite devastating. AnimalAnimal rights activists have a right to be cry out over the death of Cecil just like human right activists do over the indiscriminate killings of minorities and often disadvantaged people all over the world. 3500 wild male lions remaining in the world.... That's food for thought....
