Tambuwal drags FG to court over removal of his security aides

A day after his security aides were withdrawn by the Federal Government, the Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal, has filed a suit against the FG before a Federal High court in Abuja.

Tanbuwal filed the suit today Oct. 31st asking the court to declare that the withdrawal of his security aides while he's still the Speaker is unlawful and unconstitutional. He also asked the court to restrain FG from further infringing on his rights and privileges. There are reports they are trying to declare his seat vacant and organize a bye-election for the purpose of replacing him. Tanbuwal asked the court to restrain FG, INEC, PDP and IGP from doing this. In the meantime, he wants the court to order FG to return his security detail pending the determination of the suit.

According to the official room description, it’s based on Barbie’s Dreamhouse with the decor ‘flushed pink’ throughout and it's located on the first floor of the hotel in room 136. You'll be able to spot the suite by its pink door.

Bukina Faso President resigns following riot, military takes over

The President of Burkina Faso, Blaise Campaore has resigned from office following yesterday's massive protest by people who were opposed to the elongation of his 27 years tenure. In a statement released today, Campaore said his seat was vacant and urged his people to conduct an election in the next 90 days. 

Mr Compaore had earlier said he would remain in power until a transitional government had completed its work in 2015, a position the opposition parties and the army refused, forcing him to resign from power. His whereabouts is currently unknown.

Kaduna armourer arrested for selling police weapons to criminals commits suicide in cell

Deputy Superintendent of Police Nanbol Audu, who was the officer in charge of the Kaduna Armory, has killed himself days after he was paraded with two others for stealing and selling police weapons to criminals and rich people in the state. He was paraded this past Monday October 27th

DSP Audu, an officer who had served in the police force for 30 years and was due to retire in five years, shot himself in the stomach around 5.40am today October 31st inside his detention cell at the police headquarters in Kaduna, it was announced on radio today. The state police commissioner Umar Shehu confirmed the incident.

Santa Claus dies at 86

Y'all know that Santa Claus used in a lot of Coca-Cola adverts? Well, he has died. His name was John Moore and he was the famous "Father Christmas" who inspired Coca Cola’s character and appeared in many ads for the brand. He died recently at the age of 86 and is being buried today in Burgess Hill, Sussex,UK.

When he was not shooting for Coca-Cola, he spent the rest of the year working as a taxi driver and barman. RIP, Mr Moore.

I thought I should take a moment to let you know a little about the 'rising star' you brought to an abrupt end on Monday 27th October, 2014 at 1T4 junction, Ihumundumu road, Ekpoma. His names were Joseph Ighodalo Aidanemhen. He only just turned 20 earlier this year, and also just got admitted to study English at Ambrose Alli University weeks ago. He was the pride of everyone in my family, as he was the last-born thereof. Joseph was an intelligent, ambitious, confident and loving brother, who doubles as a son.

Photos: Frightening moment Great White Shark trails surfer back to shore

The scary moment a Great White shark trailed surfer Andy Johnston back to shore was captured on camera and only released yesterday, weeks after the incident happened. According to reports, Andy and his friends were surfing at West Beach near Esperance, south-east of Perth Australia, on Sept. 21 when people ashore spotted the shark trailing the surfer. They all started shouting, some honking their car horns to warn Andy, who paddled immediately to escape the shark. The dramatic moments was captured by Frits De Bruyn, who was on holiday in the city.

"We were at a lookout and we saw a shadow in the water. It became evident it was a shark and everyone started shouting. There was about a dozen surfers and paddle boarders in the water. He followed him to shore for a bit... he was only a body-length behind him.The surfer went straight back out a few minutes after the shark swam away.' Mr De Bruyn told Daily Mail Australia. Girl's present from dad turns her into a multimillionaire on her 19th birthday

19 year old Deisi Ocampo from Chicago is now a multimillionaire after accepting and scratching two lottery tickets her dad gave her as birthday present on October 6th.

Deisi told ABC News exactly what happened

"I rarely play the lottery. My dad buys tickets once in a while and thought it would fun to get me two tickets for my birthday. The following day, I didn’t think much of it when I scratched off the first set of numbers. But when I finished scratching the second ticket, I began to shake and sweat out of nervousness. I just couldn’t believe it was real.”

 The birthday girl had won $4 million dollars.

A bomb went off at the Gombe Line motor park in Gombe state around 9am this morning which has resulted in the death of at least 30 people. Eye witnesses say the bomb was planted by a man who came and dropped his bag in a Kano line bus and left. NEMA officials are said to be at the scene right now removing the dead bodies and taking the injured to the Gombe State Specialist Hospital. Hoping to get more info from the blast later. Looks like they may seek the death penalty for Kano child-bride

Looks like the Kano State govt is really seeking the death penalty for 14-year-old child bride Wasila Tasi'u, who allegedly killed her 35 year old husband, Umar Sani and 3 of his friends with rat poison in the village of Unguwar Yansoro in Kano, 17 days after she was forced to marry him in April 2014.

The case was heard in court yesterday Oct. 30th and AFP's Aminu Abubakar writes that prosecutors at the High Court in Gezawa, have filed an amended complaint that charged the young girl with one count of murder over the killing. Lead prosecutor Lamido Abba Soron-Dinki said that if convicted, the charge is "punishable with death" and indicated the state would seek the maximum penalty.

In addition to the multiple police shakedowns, the multiple ATM issues were enough for me; three times in two days, the machines dispensed the wrong amount of money. It was oppressive and hot. Soraja told Kurir newspaper that she met Neymar in Ibiza in July and they exchanged contact and frequently chatted via Skype. One day he told her he wanted to see her and sent a private plane to pick her and her friend up. Soraja was in Barcelona for many days with Neymar.
